Very well done, Daniel!!!! You are off to a great start. Great finds!!! And I sincerely mean that, because I would consider those relics that you found a total success on any given day of detecting.....because everywhere that I hunt (well, most places) have been gone over for 30 or 40 years!!!! So.......VERY well done. I purchased a Fors Relic from a place in Northern GA and I have yet to

And I have, at my disposal, two units: The XP Deus w/ WS-5 headphones (they sound AWESOME and feel GREAT) and the Nokta FORS Relic, which I purchased in North GA. It is a 19 KHz machine that I have yet to take to my test garden due to a lot of rain (thank GOD for the rain!!!!) No real point to this post, except to say that I hope to see many great finds, many 'firsts' finds for all of

I bought my XP Deus with the little WIRED backphones instead of the wireless type. But now, I have bought some wireless (WS-5) headphones. And the Owners Manual is not making it clear to me on how to get the new wireless headphones to connect with the coil and remote. Normally, when one buys a Deus, it comes with wireless headphones that are already connected. Can/Will anyone help me? I wo

Thanks to each of you who replied. I will publish (post) my results.....firstly, in my test garden. Shortly after, at my hunting places. I am going to TRY and do some side by side testing between the Deus and the Fors Relic. Should be fun and eye opening. Merry Christmas guys. Kevin

I am at some weird stage of life were I am just not all fired up with my hobbies like I was. And it's not a good place to be. I am trying to get fired back up. I also got some new WS-5 headphones for my XP Deus. I cannot give a review of them 'cause I ain't used 'em yet. But they sure set comfortable upon my mis-shapen head...lol........sigh.....
Anyway, the good new

Thank you, John and I wish a very Merry Christmas to you and your family and friends. If you don't mind me asking......are you from Australia? Or Great Britain? I love both places although I have been to neither one. I'm a self-professed Anglo-phile and Australia-phile. I have spent hours watching Youtube vids of people driving through Britain (I prefer the Midlands and Yorkshire

Thanks for more replies, men!!! I'm going to have some studying to do. New WS-5 Headphones today and FINALLY we are getting some rain (100% today and 60% chance tomorrow).
Guys, I really do appreciate all of the feedback. I am not a Deus fanboy.... it's just that I like how they work in AND out of iron. I wish that Tesoro would come out with a Tejon that uses two tones. I

I appreciate the replies, guys! Keith, thank you for hitting the question head on concerning how reactivity reacts in different soils. I'm slowly gaining a bit of intelligence about the Deus. Tomorrow, my WS-5 headphones will arrive and I'm gonna be spending alloy more time in my test garden. Thanks to all and Merry Christmas. Kevin

Hi Del!!!! Hope that all is well with you and yours. The ground where I hunt varies from moderately mineralized in some places to very mineralized in other places. In all of these places, I have far more confidence, and the bullets and buttons and one gold coin and three gold rings....to bolster my confidence (although gold is not necessarily my target) in the Deus than I did in my G2 or F19

I kind of understand.....(but not much)....the Reactivity of a metal detector. It has to do with how fast the unit resets itself after beeping on a piece of metal. I am taking some time to really understand my XP Deus (this is my fifth one and I still don't really KNOW it in a way that I should). I have owned my present Deus for almost a year.......a new breakthrough for me......so I have

I found a Sporting Goods store in the Midwest who sells them but they didn't appear to be equipped with an 'order online' type of deal. I appreciate your reply and wish you Happy Thanksgiving. kevin

I would appreciate some feedback from detectorists who have used both. I owned a Makro Racer 1 for a while and found some deep bullets in some hunted out C.W.campsites. I understand that Racer 2 has a deep mode (slowed down). I have been researching so much that all of the info is running together.
I'm hoping that my two new threads will help to steer me in the right direction. A

I have been using the same Deus for over a year now.(a record for me) During the last detecting season, I was able to fill three cases with CW bullets, buttons, and other sundry items. I was always a fan of the Fisher F-19 and found a lot of stuff with it. The Nokta Fors Relic has been described to me, by someone whom I trust VERY much....Keith Southern, as being like an F-19 on steroids. I like

Great post and for me......quite timely. I just watched War and Peace on the Amazon channel and it is mainly about Napolean's attack on Russia. I'd LOVE to go detecting in Russia. Old civilization. Thanks for sharing. kevin

Here I am guys. I got me a deer yesterday, so I am now searching for my next detector. I have been reading on the Racer2 and Fors Relic, and even considered a CTX3030 (but with my luck, I'll get one that has the frozen screen problem). I need a detector that will reach down (don't we all?) and hit bullets and buttons that my Deus is low-toning on, as it does when the bullet is just

SkiWhiz, man, I am VERY glad that you came away with your life, along with your family. There's a lot of folks out there with more and more cell phones, or on drugs or booze, that get behind the wheel of an automobile and in so doing, endanger their own lives and also the lives of others. Please stay safe and I'm praying that the stint(s) keep doing a good job at keeping those vessels

I purchased a brand new one around a month ago. I read through the manual, fired it up, and headed to my test garden. My dealer had been told by White's that the machine was upgraded. But when I received it, not only would the (SAT), or whatever it's called would only go up to 6. But, that is not what really troubled me. I could never get the unit to run correctly in my test garden

I took delivery of mine today. I am studying the owners manual right now. This machine is built solid like an Abrams Tank!!! I cannot wait to get all of the options and VDI numbers figured out. Plus, there seems to be a background threshold which will be PERFECT for a certain site that I have that has buttons (and other stuff) that is just below the detection range of my Deus. I don't fi

I sincerely appreciate the feedback Keith and Tennesseesharpshooter. I will definitely try your suggestions. I have kept this machine longer than I have kept any other (mainly because of limited economic means) so I am trying to find the very outer limits of it's ability.
Having said that, I have used (with great success) the Full Tone function with little to no Disc in very naily are

NCWayne, I am so glad that you shared this with us. I am not ashamed to say that it pulled tears from my eyes. VERY moving. To see the grief and anguish in those mothers and loved ones who lost their son/brother/friend just made me lose it, emotionally. May God Bless all of the soldiers who stormed Normandy beach to bring down the flag of fascism and raise up the flag of freedom. Thank you fo

I am watching this post with interest. I buried a dime and some Minie balls at fringe depths and have been experimenting with different settings. One noteworthy item: My XP Deus is only giving an iron grunt on the 10 inch dime. My settings are 4 tone (first two tones are set at 202 (tone setting), the third tone is set at 550, and 4th tone is set at 800.
I am running zero disc. 99 sensit

I have spent many a rainy several hours watching Aquachigger. He seems like a good man who genuinely enjoys sharing with others that they might have further insight into this awesome hobby. When I had my GPX 4500, I would watch his "Land Metal Detecting" topic videos and rewind and pause and listen. He is an asset to the Metal detecting community in my opinion.
