Keith, how about posting a photo of which pot to adjust. Can an external pot be put on it?
How does the Tejon compare when power balanced?
Thanks,

I always liked the Sovereign display and Sovereign wiggle you do which helps get the number more accurate. I also liked the XL Pro needle display, very accurate. Old but good.

If you are interested I have a like new Omega with 10" concentric and 10" dd coils I might trade. I used to have a Tejon and liked it a lot. This Omega I got from Keith Southern early winter and haven't been able to use it yet.

Lots of snow up here in northern Michigan. I'm 30 miles south of the Mackinaw Bridge.
Last summer I managed to find a 10th regiment foot soldier button in great shape up near a fort in Mackinaw City.

I was told by Rick ND, who knows his Sovereigns, that the models XS and XS 2 Pro were the best ones. I had an XS 2a Pro that worked very well for me. With the 8" coil I dug some Indian Heads at a measured 11". Not great separation in trashy iron sites. The treshold nulled on iron. You will get false signals on the edge of iron sometimes but easy to check in all metal. Still a great dete

Ok, was guessing it was best in all metal, will it detect micro gold in disc too . Right now I'm thinking I'll get a Gold Bug II for fresh water hunting in N. Michigan. I decided this year I'm going to do a lot of hunting for gold. Yes it's nice finding an Indian head or buffalo nickel. Hard to find in northern Michigan. I'm lucky if I find 3 Indian heads and 1 buffalo in

Usually you become a dealer through a distributor by buying at least 2 or 3 detectors wholesale. Some companies you go directly thru the company to be a dealer.

I have the Omega. The F5 is going to work great in iron trashy sites. I'm using the 10"dd coil. I would check out that coil. Works great in trash and goes deeper than the 10" concentric coil. And the 10"dd is very very light.

It's easy to tell a false on iron with the CZ or Sovereign. Check target in pinpoint/allmetal and if it moves over from where you hit the target its iron on the side.

soak in hydrogen peroxide. takes the dirt and most green off without damaging coin. I like to put a little oil on after, let it set awhile then wipe off.

I've took it thru my test coins and am going to start with DE mode, Disc 6, Sensi 82, Threshold -2, and 1H mode. This setting is running pretty smooth. As I use it more I'll try higher setting and see if I can handle the noise. Hit's my test dime at 7 1/2" easy and 8" quarter with the 11" dd.
Thanks,
Rick

And also the 10" concentric. I know the setting in heavy iron. disc 6, sensi 99, mono mode and listen to sound. What about a more open area? Use 2F or 4h or still use 1 or 1F? I will be trying all the modes and setting when I start.
This will be my first F series detector. I have used many other detectors.
My ground is mild. I hunt for old coins and any relics that show up. Everywhere

Can I use slow mode most of the time hunting for old coins? I'll have an F70 tomorrow. Seems I could use SL Mode most of the time unless way to much iron trash.
Thanks,
Rick

If it's not appropriate to post this here delete it.
It has the 5", 8" and 10 1/2" coils, hipmount bag and extra rods for coils. I just got this one and is working great. I'm happy to have it back again. The problem I'm having is my 2 detector buddies use an Advantage and it's 5khz. They both go crazy if close. I need to be at least 30 yards away. So I'

So we should have all 3 coils then depending on the area, how new it is, how hard it has been hunted, how trashy it is. I take it
Tom takes all 3 coils thru an area over time. Then you have everything covered.
I think it's all great info,

Would be nice if the numbers could be calculated and showed. I know it's going to vary. Some will use a small coil almost exclusively and the other way around. Just would be interesting to see. Also depends on the type of hunting you do. Still would be interesting.
I just got a 6" coil. All my hunting before was with a medium size coil. I'll see how I like using the small coil o

I put water on the spots where grass died on me once and the grass started growing again. Then for awhile I would put water in the hole and then put the sod back and I didn't notice any grass dying. I think I will start putting water in the hole again on a nice lawn or somewhat nice lawn.

Oh I agree Dan. A small coil is hard to use. I saw one post where he was using an Explorer w/ a 6" coil and said it should take 30 min to cover a 10'x10' area. Wow that is slow going. I like the standard coils too. I haven't used a small coil yet. I find the sensitivity is critical with the Explorer as you monitor how much nulling you get. I do like how deep it detects. I'

I've have an Explorer 2 with the 10" coil and was thinking about getting a 6" coil. I've used it for about a month and have found a couple silver dimes at about 10" along with some Indian heads and wheats. My ground is mild. Most areas I hunt are for old coins and relics and are litter with iron. Was wondering how the Explorer with a 6" coil compares to fast detecto

When I was in high school my uncle had one and got to use it a few times and I was hooked. I saved up $250.00 and bought a Compass Yucon 77b professional with an 8" and 10" coil at a local grocery store that was selling them. It still works. Unfortunately for me I didn't get another detector until I bought a garrett GTA 1000. I went all that time and should have upgraded my Compass
