I have been hunting in a really trashy area. Old apts torn down so running desc. high at 75 to avoid alot of noise. Suppose that could have an effect on depth. Could also be the coil has to be over it to see it. This machine was one of the first produced last summer and was sent back by dealer for adjustment. Is this a new concern or are we talking about the same adjustments? Will air test and se

Looking at getting a F75 LTD but I want to use it for coins. Its my understanding the lower the freq the better for silver. I have the GBSE which is grt for gold and small silver. Im finding alot of silver dimes with the GBSE but the bigger silver is not there unless shallow. Im thinking the difference between 13 and 19 isn't enough. Im reading the LTD is hot for gold but dont need another

Coldest December on record in Charlotte. Had a couple warm days in Jan. We are lucky to be on the south side of the fronts lately but there is time for that to change.

Minelab is making mistake by going up on models that have been around. Would only and did make me buy a used model. It seems FTP gets around this by coming out with new models and can control price points with features and just fade out the others. They also have the pionts mentioned above. WTG FTP. Were just starting to see inflation come on. Any one who went through this in the Carter Administr

Unlike grocerys where they can shrink the package or put less volume in and sell it for the same price, you cant shrink a MD. It is a heafty increase. Inflation Get used to it!

Picked up in older part of town. Fenced and just asked hit it off with the right person. A 1929 British One Penny, 44" Washington, 41' Merc, 64" Rosie and 2-45' Wheaties. Used 11"DD coil. Wheats were 3" silver at 4 to 6" and Penny was 7" with 84 TID. Mild soil and not alot of trash so next week its the XT 705 w/9"MF coil to get the bigger silver I hope

I paid 770.00 for that "not up to par" experence with the 3D. Just didn't get that 1021 feeling or depth. Getting that from the GBSE. Unless it has your name attached a 3D has a poor resale value also. My experence and Im sure alot more post 1021ers. Thanks for trying to help at least one of us renew the faith for a nominal charge of course. Just wish it was me but for less.

Gold Bug or G2. Some great deals on used GB's out there. Being a backup and likely to be used less GB cant be beat for the money. My GBSE is now main and everthing else is drawing dust.

The GBSE wasnt meant for coins but it loves dimes and pennies at depth. I dug a #10 chrome plated brass washer at 9" in dry sand Saturday night.Chrome was gone. I have noticed that I have found 2 old silver coins with the 5" 1898 and 42" and both deep dimes(6"). I havent had the same luck with the 11" but have found 50.00 in clad with it in 2 weeks. Have been able to get

Old location but alot of current activity. Wide open area so it could be any where. Using GBSE and 11" coil. Set desc. at 80 so I could have missed alot. Naw, going back over area with set to 40 but just had to clean up first. Still getting high tones on way to truck but no time to dig. Lots of "trash" to dig before I can get to silver. 5 hr hunt, 33Q, 31P, and 25 dimes. A few sma

Didnt have it with me. Trying to get used to TID machine. Not letting go of the 3D and will be using it at this old site as well as Gold Bug. While not as deep as a 1021 model it still fills a niche.Landstar was just right for beginer like my brother. He's got the fever now. Hated to do it to him but its a great hobby.

Picked up a 1898 Barber dime stuck up agaist a old stone wall. Who said a 19khz wont get deep coins. 6" My brother using my Landstar and first hunt got a 1911 V nickel and 1888 Indian head cent on other side of wall. Just a half an hour. Got the 11"DD coil coming and parting with the 3D 10.5 and 5" coils. Looks like the GB is going to do what I bought the 3D to do. Not sure how to

What a way to get to know a new machine. First hit was costume ring and it rang a solid 25. Silver coin pendant looks like a old Spanish coin and it rang 85 to 87. Diamond ring rang solid 55. New to TID MD so numbers are new to me.Got 2 nickels and a couple tabs. The tabs have a slightly different sound and bounced around 55 to 60 where the nickels gave a solid 55. At full senitivity it is so sta

Nice find Keith and thanks for posting the settings. I have GBSE coming and will have a learning curve to get through. I take it you were using the 11"DD coil?

But I did. I got a Gold Bug SE. The dealer stated it had all the updates. After the concerns I had with the 3D I had to think hard. The dealer I got the 3D from wouldnt return my calls so he lost my business and everyone I could tell. Its your fault Gman with the review you just posted. With gold at a all time high and living in a gold area, (Mecklenburg County) Gold and Micro Jewelery hunting se

Wonder if that will work with those pesky nails. The little, bent nails wore me out yesterday. They were at least where they were PP. Good thing signal strenth isnt affected by high desc. on 3D

Ive left cell phones and GPS units in cars all day long. Never a problem so far. Even at a 125 I would think it takes more than that to affect components unless already near point of failure. Vibration is worse. I carry mine all the time

Very few tabs. Nothing is perfect but if mine gives a high tone with out alot of mid and IDs' its a nickel. Safe to say out of last 40 nickels I gotten 5 tabs. All were tails! This machine beeps if a nickel is in the next field! Digging fewer bottle caps(guess before digging) but they just sound so close. I dig everything just about.

I hunted the same general area around a 20 yr old ball field 3 times on the 20th, 22nd and 24th. 58 quarters, 27 NICKELS, and 65 dimes. If mine says nickel in salt mode its a nickel at least 90% of the time.If there is a nickel there the 3D will know!

Second that. I asked a "repair" guy a question about his long turn around and he responded with a very condescending remark. While I have not always been pleased with the product results, Daniel and Felix busted their hump when they were involved on my repair concern.

Area(OK a really big Park) making it tough on keeping GB in enhanced so got it best I could and fliped to salt. Area floods and has twice just this week from flash floods. Grass is still really green and has roots like 16 ga. wire. Tough and deep. Shout out to the Park and Rec guys in my county with limited funds still keep the parks GOING ON. Hunted past Sun. w/3D and Tesoro Silver before floodi

It appears there is a fix if you can replace the components. The docs I have seems they know they are getting marginal product and throwing excuses for a lack of proper planing and QC. Get them out and fix them later. Sounds like Microsofts business model. I still find the 3D is going to do a good job just not to deep as I would like in some places I would like it to. The beach seems to let it do

Puzzled! I thought when you tuned a unit it was adjusted to get max from unit. Then If I understand correctly it is the components thats the problem and pots cannt be adjusted to get the max depth? Well I am willing to pay to try and improve it if possible but I know you cant replace the components. It calls a nickel a nickel and a tab is a tab. I believe those adjustments are OK. After having to get 3 units and the 3rd ones faceplate rocked up and down when pressing PP btn. I assume Daniel w/Fisher took it apart to verify it would work and he failed to reassemble it properly. Neither Fisher or Kens Detectors from who I bought it from have returned my calls to this day. I was wanting my money back. 9" max on air test. I have tested this unit for 2 months now and have

I wear mine on a wide belt and it works grt with this config. Even with the large coil it is easy on the arm. About the same as my uMax. I didnt have anyone around to borrow from so I had to make a choice based on research and my style of hunting. Found my first Kennedy half dollar yesterday in a patch of grd that keeps on giving. This MD is a nickel getter too. Keeping track. I also dug 2 nickel
