Thanks I keep looking by checking into pawn shops even though they are suppose to report all items to police for a check. All the clubs in this area know about it but there could be one person out there using it and knows what its worth.

Thanks Tom it has been awhile but had so many irons in the fire and was hoping with the large reward some how 23 would show up but to no avail. I finally found the lost battery cap under storage building my labby was using for her personal storage unit. It was not chewed up at all. She was trying to keep me home.

While the weight comment is out of bounds blame the person not the company! You were hating the EQ last week so what changed? You need to have a MDT in your hands for awhile and not judge from someone that from my interpretation didn't have it long. When you have a machine that you like already its easy to use it as a go to and not give the new platform MD a chance. The 8000 was developed fo

Its been over 6 months since my unit 23 was stolen and I finally got a settlement from insurance. Not what I had hoped for but it helps. I found one and I couldn't be happier. I have other machines but for the beach this unit is for me. I have a lot of reading to do to get caught up on all the things others have found out about the settings and their effect in the sand. Just a little rusty.

That does suck to get a used one and then even it craps out. I should mention that the Tarsacci MDT 8000 isn't having a problem with leaks.

Hate your having this issue. When I was in the RV appliance business many moons ago I had a warehouse full of appliances and when parts got scarce and if I had a large inventory of the units I would pull a part. Doing so meant I could lose a sell of a large profit piece until part came in. Also if not in same location as mfg. packing the unit back to make it look new is an issue. I wondering if

Very interesting. I would like to see that in the wet sand just to see how it effects stability and the ring being at depth. In the dry sand that is a great tip. Thanks for posting video. JR

Aaron you don't seem to have a clue! Who is we? Their could be some depth advantage but if you want depth the 12 is just not going to be enough to make a difference for the cost factor IMHO. Go Big! "Enough Said"

I thought oval shape coils are more sensitive to gold and the difference in size of a 12" is not enough to make that much difference in coverage not to mention the weight factor. The stock coil has separation even better than the 11" pro coil. IMHO I would like to see a better spread on descrimation. Something along the line of the CTX or the E Trac. Not even sure that could be. If yo

Amazing but try it with a gold ring or better yet a "micro" gold cross. I ignored the upper coin range. When I had mine none of my testing saw any gold go up that high and that is what I bought the Tarsacci for. Old number 23 has still not turned up from being stolen from my truck in Feb. I have mentioned to the clubs in this area a 500 reward if found and name of who has it. "Re

CD I used mine on a 20's house at the back Horseshoe Ln. and it has the separation. But the noisy was insane from all the nails and trash. Pulled a Merc and that was about it. They have said I can do a couple 10x10 clean out this fall so I will pick the best spot and dig everything to see what's below the trash.

CD did your sell your Excalibur? I fell your frustration with the 800. Splurge and get a Tarsacci. Speaking from experience I never have that kind of delay from Demitar and Tom. But mine never leaked even sitting on a pool bottom. I saving to get another.

One word can sum up what your going through Rick, EXCITING! I don't even bother with other sites because I know the real pro's are on this site and the info that you and others take the time to post is valuable to the rest of us.
By the way I have eaten fish at CD's restaurant a lot and not only is it the best "Calabash" style seafood period his hospitality is second to

Maybe I missed it somewhere but is it waterproof? I believe at one time the Gold Bug SE was limited in production. Not sure about the numbers but sure over 100 units. So if you get one are you limited to just posting on the private pages or can you post on Tom's site for example? I have no experience with a pulse machine. I do like the idea of it being focused on the only thing I hunt for on

Super nice piece CC. I had a neighbor that pulled a sabre from the murky dark water in a river in Charleston. Brave man to dive that environment. I did a lot of salvage diving in no vis, cold water for different Items on several lakes around Charlotte and nothing there but big cats. Tiger sharks come up the rivers in the low country.

Thanks guys. She was a great patient but I am a terrible nurse! She is a real trooper and never happier than when she is working! Beaches last week on the south part of the Strand had an easy 24" drop and hard pack for a good distance at low tide. The long shore current from south to north along with strong winds had been running for a while and it moved a bunch of replenished sand. Lots o

On my way back from MDing back in early March a very elderly lady ran an intersection in the middle lane hidden from me by turn traffic. I hit her at about 40. I'm a defensive driver and had backed off the gas but no way to avoid hitting her. I saw her looking straight ahead when we hit. My left hand was crunched on the steering wheel by the side curtain air bag. I ride with the seat back ju

Thanks everyone.. I'm working on all angles but I feel it will turn up (optimistic) but when is the million dollar question. I wasn't the only vehicle hit in the neighborhood. We got too comfortable and let our guard down. Lesson learned. Shame have to be on guard but sign of the times. This is a port town and drugs are a problem here as elsewhere. Nothing from police yet. I will make

Sometime in last 10 days someone broke into my truck and stole my Tarsacci MDT 8000 with serial number 23. Thanks to the last person that drove it (won't mention her name) and didn't lock the doors after using they could just help themselves. I have a work truck so don't drive it often so didn't know it was missing until I wanted to use it yesterday. Please keep eyes open fo

That's a 6" DD coil for you. Still to big. Field created at higher Sens. seems to hit things off to the side. Give me a 5" or even a 4" I used on my Tesoro. If I am using one its in heavy trash and use a little lower Sens. then work the coil like an eraser at small angle changes. Then just listen for the squeakers. Can't cover any ground I only go there after swinging the

Could it be the 7us that lets it see the gold over other objects? Seems that is the number everyone wants to use to find gold with a PI. In my area beaches I dig lots of deep round aluminum trash. Sounds great and gives a solid ID with the MDT 8000. Some id in gold area some in the upper area depending on size. I will be waiting for this to be out and reported on for awhile along with having to

I just got a set of the Trond transceiver and headphones that Badger mention above. I use them on my MDT 8000 and my E trac and they work great. I like the size of the transceiver. Its easy to find a place to put it on both models and its less expensive than the Garrett

I hate it has to come to this but the replenishment of sand in Horry Co. this past 2 years put the brakes on MDing for me. In the last 3.5 months I have been working as much as possible and only hunted when the wife made me go the beach and only for a few minutes then. Gets old when only targets if any are bottle caps and tabs by the hundreds, Some gold and bands were found by those hunting the
