Demitar has been great. Always available to talk when I had questions. Who else gives this kind of customer service. I received my unit yesterday a day early and the box was smashed. I opened it in front of mail lady to make sure of no damage. None was showing. I understand a gasket and face plate were replaced. He stated he found no concern with working of unit. If I use the 18 K on the beaches

Are you water hunters submerging the head of the unit? If so for how long. Mine got a tiny bit of moisture under the screen by rinsing in the outdoor shower. Demitar was great and sent me a loaner to use while mine was being repaired. It was a lot more sensitive to EMI and I found by backing off to 2 sometimes -3 on the threshold would calm it down. I use 18k but seeing the success of using a lo

Haven't had the opportunity to look but thanks for the tip. First one I have found so kind of rare and would have kept it for laughs. Have a guy in this area that has a contact at a crematory and he goes after they have had the ceremony and hunts. Has had a great deal of luck.

Just can't seem to get over the gold. Conditions are as flat as it gets with just a small shell area with a harder base. Sand has got to be 2' deep near the water. Still was able to get some targets worth notice. The center piece in the costume jewelry is a tooth crown. Also the ring is silver and its been in long enough to tarnish. Has a name and some design on the front. Some of the t

The beaches in my neck of the woods except the 90% that have been replenished were slammed by the Blood moon pulling the drop off to a flat no mans land. This last Snow Moon in Feb. didn't help. Winds and tides just didn't jive. This past Sunday we got some sand shifting finally. I felt lucky to be the only one there as often as I encounter other pirates. Upper part of beach was covered

I found by setting the GB to 560 it help settle it down. But the chatter is still there even with other freq. I do turn my sens down when GB and not sure if necessary as now Im just setting mine to 560. I have found the machine will not GB in the sand on the beaches around this area because the sand is so "mild". I stay on 18k because I'm a jewelry hunter. Really could care less a

I agree with Gary about the small targets. My unit hits targets so small I have to use a PP to find them. We have a great deal of aluminum in the sand here from years of drinking on the beach. It gets down to some very tiny pieces and is color of wet sand. It is quite the conundrum. lol Still testing but seeing ID pattern on them and adjusting the disc may come into play. I am also considering

Put my rods up in 2010 when I picked up a MD at a pawn shop. Tesoro Silver UMax for 50 dollars. Then later sold both boats only to move to the coast and get another boat. So now I play at both. Give me a Redfish any day over most anything that swims in the skinny water.

Tom, I get the same response with cover on or off. Early in thread when I asked if I could run the unit without the cover I was starting to notice the noise. I was thinking the trapped sand might make a difference with this tech. Removing made no difference. Give me a heads up when shipped.

I got out yesterday and wanted to make sure this was not something I might have control over. I don't. I haven't heard from anyone in regards to this Tom. I do need to talk as it is a concern. I have been able to run the MD because it is quite unless you have any contact with sand. Dry or wet. I have noticed that my dry sand is 545 and have had to go to several dry spots to get a "

Thanks but that's the first thing I thought of. No difference. Also connection is good.

I'm not talking about setting the entire unit down just setting the bottom of the coil down like you would normally when wanting to use both hands and lean the unit against you. Can't test around house on the ground as the EMI is overwhelming in my neighborhood. The unit is quite as long as you keep the coil off the sand and not talking about coil control but just the coil at rest as we

Only takes a moment to post a pic. So easy a caveman can do it. lol I remember the limitations Dew but sounded like from past post you were going to use it in the water.
My MD has started chattering when I set the coil down on dry or wet sand. Its quite and balanced as long as I don't let it touch the sand Didn't do that in the past but the coil would false if it touches the sand.

I've been hunting a "string" of beaches so haven't had to change settings unless playing around. I do run my sand at 24 and that is quite. 7s, -1T, 0D, 18k. The tides didn't pan out. While high they took sand out and flatten the beaches. I found some small runs with high points and that's where I hunted. This is deep wet sand and other parts are mush. The chain came

Noticed on Tide charts for my area that we will have some great peaks and better low tides at night. Low 60's through Sunday then a sever front Sunday will drop to high of 36 so Monday could have the best winds but it will be chilly. Still will try starting Thursday to scope out the beaches.

A day of hard NE winds then a change to westerly during the tide to help outgoing. Tides here will be low during the best days in mid morning to late afternoon so if weather is just not raining and the right beach finds could be good for this time of year and not have to get in water. Will do some "run and gun" on first of I hope 5 days to get a idea where it might happen.

On the 20th we will have a "Blood Moon". 2 years ago we had a Super Moon in November then following in January we had another. I killed the rings for 3 days in Nov. not to mention everything else you find on the beach. The one in January the conditions were to severe to get out with rain and cold. The tides were extreme and looking forward to finding some exposed rocks. Anyone else plan

I took the cross but didn't test. Had several friends with me and I just forgot it was in shirt pocket.
I haven't found or tested a chain but Tom mention he wasn't 100% on all but didn't think it would do any better on seeing the links. I have no doubt that it would see a clasp at deeper depth than other MD's. Thing is you have to listen for the softer tones the deepe

Had a long walk to find a spot that had some targets in it, Tungsten and Titanium mans rings and only 2 coins. I ear post. Want get out again for the rest of week. Really didn't have to change settings from last hunt. beginning to wonder if batt gauge is working. 3 hours today and still at 3 bars. Can't complain unless it drops like a rock when out on beach. Carry the backup. I forgot m

I meant to post this last night but time got away. The cross is 14k and I am going to use this to test with today. It is only visible to 3" in wet sand with e Trac and several other MD's hardly see it.
