Thanks for the tip. Day from Hades but back in the saddle. Dang 9" scoop works on the back when done oh 50 times or more. Rolling to new spot tomorrow and the temp is up, winds are down and tides are going kind of flat so not a lot of sand movement. Still will be fluid and move if conditions call for it. Got an array of MD's swinging with me tomorrow so could be fun. When the headphones

Thanks guys. 18k SB23 GB 523 Sens 7 Thrs. -1 disc 0. Coil control was necessary as the coil would false if touches sand in the swing. Smooth and steady. My first platinum ring. I will be working on pic with penny this morning and it is the same diameter as a penny. I will have it looked at by a jeweler sometime today. I'm not sure if wedding band or just reg. ring. I'm posting on SC Dir

Platinum ladies setting with 3 diamonds and 4 emeralds! Small but 4.5g. Faint but clear tone with steady 9,10 ID. Mixed mode. Can tell you it was at least 6" in the wet sand. At the base of the slope in a cut with moving water. Winds moved some sand around at the beach and it uncovered some corroded targets. Steep slope and then a shell base for days. May be gone tomorrow but hit lots of wei

It makes me wonder if you can have sens. to high when doing salt balance. While 7 is recommended could in some causes it might be better to back down to say 5 and SB. With 0, -1 being the ideal setting it appears to appoint you cut the sens back and only bring the threshold down if a small drop in sens noise remains then a threshold drop would be in line to keep sens up as reasonable possible wit

Had a short time to post yesterday but wanted to mention the settings on the hunt I was on yesterday with the deep nickels. We found them in an area about 100yrds long that had noticeable EMI and had to change settings but didn't seem to lose depth on the Tarsacci. Hard to explain in mix mode. Nickels and tabs seem to have a hard blaring tone to them. Easy to hear even deep and the aluminum

I haven't buried anything but will be working on that soon. I prefer just going for the reality digs. Have had 3 different friends with ML's hunt with me and stay close to check signals. No crosstalk with any of the multi freq. MDs. That's a plus. I'm enjoying learning this MD and I have tried a bunch in 9 years I've enjoyed this hobby.

"I am most interested in seeing how it compares to the EQX, etc....but on the beach (us east coast). As of now I've got the EQX and am pretty happy with performance and the $600 price tag. Its going to be tough to convince me to get something more expensive but inches do matter"
Coming up to Wilmington this weekend so if you get free I'd like to let you take a look.

No you can balance on wet sand after doing a dry sand balance. You balance over water if you are going to be in the water. Once done if you hear noise when coil get near sand rebalance. Don't GB in wet sand.

I have about 14hrs. in mostly 18k and the battery bar just went down 1 notch. I can say in the environment I detect I am getting better depth and finding targets when my friends I am hunting with are getting far less overall with most of theirs being coins. My coins are older and I am finding multiple pieces of costume every outing. If you were to see the beaches I have been hunting you would see

All I used for the last 9 months was use the 800 on the beach. I used beach 2 in the surf for awhile but found beach 1 as stable and suppose to be deeper but never saw that. Never felt it was that deep on the beach in wet sand. I sold it to buy the Tarsacci and so far I'm impressed with the depth. EQ nose heavy as well.

Just my understanding but the closer to 0 in threshold the better for salt/mineral environment. You can over power sens. and cause what I call a "blast" and turning threshold down will clear the "picture"

I have stayed at 18 due to iron pieces from picket style fences used to hold back the dunes. I tried others and didn't seem to see the deeper pieces in very wet sand. I see the separation and depth in 18k. If I notice noise I adjust salt balance, sens. then threshold in that order as I have already GB in the dry sand. I believe it was mention the gap between the GB and Salt balance is used b

MS update on laptop has given my unit the blue screen of death. Working through it this am. Using my wife's laptop. I have to emphasis that with 2 more beach hunts I still have no upper arm fatigue. The EQ800 was nose heavy so I still had arm fatigue. I finally feel I have been able to get the salt balance right. I have been able to get up to sens. 8, threshold -1 SB 23, GB 535, 18K. Stabl

One thing I noticed and wonder if just mine is when adjusting Salt balance when I push the down arrow it beeps and a number appears on screen. Sens setting lowered still nothing different thinking it might be EMI related on screen numbers appearing. Every number beeps no matter if you hold it for rapid number change or one number at a time. But not beeping using the up arrow. If I go to any other

With 15 points for one tone how would you know what you got other than say a low conductor or a high conductor. With this MD I dig all non Ferrous and some that bounce into iron right now. I don't normally drop targets in to test. Prefer to just hunt for real world targets but will test micro as well as several different karats of rings in the wet sand next chance I can get out. The rings j

10k(tested) stud ear ring at 6" in very wet sand shortly after set up near surf! Started off right. Got out on Sunset Beach NC. Flat as a nightmare could be. That is why this MD got my attention. My number one thing is little arm fatigue with 3.5 hours. Sonar comparison sound is how I would imagine is right but the most in Disc. I played with a bottlecap and several other targets and notice

Tom, I have no 500 in GB scale. Mine goes from 499 to 501. Checked every mode and same. I tried changing things around to slow down the EMI at my house. At sens 6 all was quite. Black Sand helped a lot but found that as I went down on Freq. It would kick up and I found I could turn Threshold to -4 and I could turn the MD up to 9 in all modes. How it affects depth yet to be seen. One thing in air

It has landed! Had my frt. door open so could see out storm door and I see a reflection of something moving on front porch. The FE guy had dropped the package and ran. No signature needed after all I guess.Climbing in truck when I got his attention. Truck unmarked and box surely too small for a MD. Said he was Fed Ex and bye!
Wow more compact than pictures led me to think. Batteries on charge

Tom I called Fed Ex a few moments ago and got the auto attendant run a round. For some reason its coming out of Florence SC which is 76 miles from here. If they hold it I have to drive 150 miles round trip. Trying but may not be able to avoid that. There is an option for doing that so if it doesn't get here I will be doing that. The way the tracking number reads if they pulled it from truck

They were a great MD 8 years ago when they came out. I used the Gold for creek hunting. It put lots of gold in my pocket. The new processors in the latest and greatest are many times better. Does open your eyes with the Anfibio. I've always liked a 7" concentric for coin and jewelry hunting tot lots and small areas.

Stuff has changed in a short time. No MD is not here but family not coming. Sister in-law hit going thru intersection. All are OK but very sore and car is toast. Wife going up Monday evening and I get to stay home with dogs. Dang the bad luck lol I was so ill at Fed Ex. Had opportunity to make some extra cash yesterday and had to turn it down. I wish I knew a neighbor I could count on to sign

Well checked tracking number after waiting all day. Delivery Exception. What does that mean? New estimated time for delivery Saturday sometime and still a chance that might be Monday. Signature required. Yea got another day or 2 to sit and wait. 3rd class ground? Oh well and the next generation without speakers already being designed and I don't have mine yet.
