Re: MINELAB MANTICORE: DATA & PERFORMANCE
Tom….. I really appreciate your response. I’m mostly in 1880-1900 homesteads. It’s overwhelming to believe there's that much iron in and around the sites I hunt. It’s weird to be running around in a site with Manticore listening to a lot of the iron then go back to vehicle grab another detector and ...

Re: MINELAB MANTICORE: DATA & PERFORMANCE
Question, running in AL metal I’ve always wondered if the manticore is sounding off on the tiniest rust flakes or some mineral at times? I’ve never ran any disc ever. I was at a place in the woods at our farm a while back that was fairly quiet but had several scattered iron tones, that I ended up di...

Re: "UNDER THE IRON CARPET"
I purchased a used Vista X on recommendation from Keith Southern he said that it would work well in my iron infested site that I’ve beat to death. I’ve been wanting to try one ever since it was released. I’ve only had it a little over a month. In that time the Vista X has consistently been pulling n...

Re: M8 at a beat up site
I posted this last week on detector prospector forum. Another half dime out of a different site. M8 loves small silver. I was in ATLC. I mostly use the manticore in or around iron with the M8. I’ve really enjoyed using this detector. Every single time I’ve doubted its ability to pull keepers out of ...

Re: "UNDER THE IRON CARPET"
Tom your list made me smile. It also made me realize I left out a several important detectors off of my list that I’ve had in my test site. Manticore, equinox and deus. I’m planning on getting a deus 2 very soon. Not sure how it stacks up with the original deus. The original deus has been very good ...

Re: "UNDER THE IRON CARPET"
I have a site that is the perfect place for me to go and test out all of my machines and coil combinations. I can hunt it every day because it’s my father’s 175 acre farm that he bought from a friend of ours. It has been in constant habitat since 1850s. I’ve pounded on this place for 9 years very ha...

Re: "UNDER THE IRON CARPET"
Very interesting how it seemed to hit when slowing swing speed. That may show the separation of a small concentric in iron. Be interesting if a DD of same size on that same machine would hit it too. Lots of pops, cracks, and false hits in a busy site full of iron and nails. Thanks for sharing.

Re: MINELAB MANTICORE: DATA & PERFORMANCE
I’ve been running the manticore for about 6 months now, and it pulls the good stuff out of iron and trash very well. My question is, has anyone ever noticed that the display screen has a bright flash of light on the edges or border that kinda looks like a camera flash or lightning. It seems to have ...

Re: M8 at a beat up site
Went back to this site again but this time went scouting for nail beds and after a couple miles of walking high ground. Got lucky. These were pulled out of the iron with the M8. Also my buddy got his first silver 1850 half dime with the Xterra pro and the V8X coil. Thanks for looking.

1236x2 magic trick
I got a used 1236x2 because my friend Kieth Southern told me that it would get the good stuff out of the thickest iron. He also said it would pull silver out of beat sites. Well he’s always shot me straight. I dug this 1795 5 francs and a modern dollar coin . I’ve been all over these coins with the ...
