Happy to see you back Tom,an helping with the intricacies of gold hunting, I have continued practicing ZEN an the art of micro gold hunting. Haha. Re: MINELAB MANTICORE: DATA & PERFORMANCE
A couple of things I been thinking about.. 1..does the manticore know it's an object with a curved side, If so is it related to the waves sent into the sand,an do you know how many per second.. 2. In high magnetite sand, why does the round object go to the upper most limit of the ferrous line,rather...

Re: MINELAB MANTICORE: DATA & PERFORMANCE
I love the extreem focus that's needed,to hunt micro-gold in moderate black sand,an extreem Mediterranean salt water. I have progressed to sensitivity 24,the first 20 mins of hunting,I have to settle my swing, otherwise I have 3 types of falsing, bobing coil, extreem SALT,BLACK sand an in some areas, ...

Re: MINELAB MANTICORE: DATA & PERFORMANCE
To add to what Tom said, after 500 hours with prospecting audio,I could hear subtle differences in the sound, that tells me it's gold or silver..I like Tom am not very good musicaly, all I'm wanting is a sharp tone on micro gokd..something the nox never had,the nox was good down to 1.5/2g gold....

Re: MINELAB MANTICORE: DATA & PERFORMANCE
Water (just like air) can have/create vortices (like a tornado)........ which will create craters in the sand! Very interesting, in that case have you thought of a design To build a machine that would create an artificial vortex To remove sand from desired locations... I already had the idea to use...

Re: MINELAB MANTICORE: DATA & PERFORMANCE
Thanks Tom an to everyone on this forum that has shared info on the MANTICORE, without it we would spend many 1000s of hours in the dark,if it was not for info about the M8 coil,I would have sold the manticore, I spent 6 months very frustrated, because the 11 just does not work on my beaches..the hi...

Re: MINELAB MANTICORE: DATA & PERFORMANCE
The reasons I believe a woman looses a earing is for 2 reasons..,big waves catching the hair,.an the hair pulls it out. Secondly a sharp drop off at the entrance to the water, causing a dive in.. This beach 95% of the time has no waves..an it's shallow For first 30m..so the ladies tend to walk in an...
