Now we are getting back to interesting discussions. Thanks.

What 'triggered' me to make this post.....was............. I had found 7 coins..... then 7 more coins........ then yet, 7 MORE coins. 7, 7, 7

What is NOT mentioned; yet, was a absolute reality....was........ there were plenty of OTHER high-tones (coin tones) that were not coins ......... but could VERY WELL HAVE been coins........... AND............ the fact that no other detector/configuration........could/would have found them. Needless to say: Startle-Factor!

. ….. Tom, I’m trying to follow what you are saying. Are you saying that no other detector/configuration could have detected or found the other targets that you left or the 21 coins that you dug? Are you saying that the manticore is the only one that can get those? In my experience unless you have ran a whole arsenal of detectors through this area you are not going to get everything with on detector no matter how many coils you use.

I almost did not see your question....... due to it looking purely like a re-post!

I had been detecting this area since 1996. I have detected it with the following detectors:

CZ-6a
CZ-70
CZ-3D
1266X
1236X
Shadow X5
T2
F75

The T2 & F75 somewhat opened the doors again......due to the elliptical DD coil and its subsequent tighter footprint.

The Manticore (with its different available coils) ... coupled with SMF.......AND coupled with unique algorithms........ AND coupled with unique iron processing/mitigation.......AND coupled with adjustable Ferrous - Upper Limits & Ferrous - Lower Limits...........----------- is what REALLY opened the doors again.
Sooooooo........ to answer your question: With all of these advancements instilled in Manticore......no other detector would have found all of these additional targets. However, I DO believe.... many of these additional high-tone targets (with some of them turning out to be coins) 'may' have been found with Deus-2. But certainly not all of them.

From a engineer/s/physicist's TUITIONAL standpoint........ the takeaway would be:
Any time you mitigate iron masking........ even by just a few percent......... is a tremendous leap in performance (and subsequent technological advancement).

Tom, that makes more sense now. That list of detectors over a small area with a skilled user would definitely be considered worked pretty good. Never know if another machine will find something in a beat area until you try though. A lot of machines get dismissed before they even tried.

NASA Tom Did you not run the Equinox there? The first newer generation SMF unit should have been an eye opener on that site.
