Mike didn't you put a manual GB on a Golden uMax?
I thought I heard someone did but it messed with the tones? I was just curious as mine works good in my ground but thought I heard that somewhere, Thanks.

Keith Southern said the 1236X-2 was his favorite Fisher. I believe he found a Silver dollar with it in a bunch of iron at an old house site.

I knew a guy who found a 5 dollar gold coin at an old Chicago park. He only been detecting a couple years too. Whenever I hunt them with my CZ-3D and get that high tone zinc hit I get excited even though not one yet.
I think CZ-3D only detector to high tone on a 5 dollar gold coin?

I wonder how long that parts will last to repair them as screens and faceplate buttons do go bad from time to time.
That was what was happening with the Explorers when they discontinued them.

I never liked detecting like that as no fun looking over your shoulder every 5 minutes or so. People still detect spots around here with No Metal Detecting signs even and just wait to get thrown off and hopefully not get a ticket as the Forest Preserves do that now that everyone is doing it. Too me it is just no fun spending a day in court as you can not just pay it like most of them and they get

The Etrac as it even has a 4 tone option if the multi tones becomes too much which it did for me. I am probably one of few who preferred 4 tones but it cut down the learning curve for me and seem to also make lower conductor coins stand out more.

Deep coins have a good four way modulated hit with a deep soft tight pinpoint. That why I run my volume at 4 so I can tell the difference in depth. If they are deep standing on end or small sure you get fooled but deep coins sound like that too so you have to dig them but not so much in a old park. If you are near where a old band stand was then you dig your share but parks around here I do not di

If you know a CZ you can avoid most deep nails and it is great in the trash items
I mentioned above.I don't mind a deep nail or two in an old park but those steel bottle caps will drive you nuts and they can be deep too. I dug them down 8"-9" before along with deep waded up Little balls of foil with a Coinstrike as it loved them.
