Tn-sharpshooter gives good advice. I would add :
The Etrac had a better pinpoint mode (the VCO growl ). And a few other bells and whistles. But as far as depth and needed-bells go, I do not think it is any better than the Exp. II predecessor. And the benefit to the Exp. II predecessor was, that it had a "sweeter spot" for high conductors. Ie.: Almost as if you could tell a sil

1) Iron-see-through tests. Which is not the same as "separation" . "See-through" would be a nail ON TOP of the conductive targets (like a coin). "Separation" would be when the nail is *next* to the coin.
So if you could start with a table-test like this : The coin behind a single rusty nail (both touching each other, and then with a slight gap between them).

Love the live dig and audio capture. Thanx.
A buddy of mine did something similar years ago, for junky San Francisco park turf hunting, And was able to splice the detector headphones through to his Go-pro. So everything was live & audio, showing what he'd pass vs what he'd chase. I loved that effect, since , to the uninitiated, everything might sound-the-same. Until you

Whatever settings could be there to help alleviate crown bottle caps, I would beware : Machines that have had such settings (or options you choose from, to help knock them out) can have the downside of "muffling" stuff you want.
So before simply taking the factory preset bottle cap rejects, I would play with it , WITHOUT that reject control setting. And see if suspected bottle c

I know some guys who have tried to be a hero, and "dig out all the iron" . Lest they miss something being masked. Or to sift an entire site.
But I agree with your video : At the end of the day, the time vs rewards don't add up. Only in rare exceptions would it be worthwhile to dig up all the iron. You will go psycho is some of the sites I've been in.
Does that mea

Harold, I am familiar with the "tricks" that the old CZ6 users could use, to avoid the false positives that deep nails (especially bent ones) were prone to give.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but one of the tricks was that the nails tended to only

Yes, sure, 95% of detecting is "location location location". But once 2 equally skilled guys are on the SAME said-location, then you can bet that subtle advantages with various machines can very-much-come into play. Every

Bear in mind also, that in a "quest for gold coins", another factor, even more important that TID ranges is: Location location location.
Maybe it's different on the e

This machine will be SO good at un-masking & depth, that : You can put a quarter on the front seat of a '55 Chevy. And then wave the coil from 3 ft. away, outside of the Chevy, and you will STILL get the quarter, with accurate TID. Has anyone else heard this rumor too ??

Pimento, is your objective to get cache-sized objects ? (as the title of the post implies) ? If so, then if I were you, I would not be using a coin machine, of any sort, at all. Instead, why not just get a 2-box machine ? Like a Whites TM-808 or similar ? They will not find an object smaller than a tennis ball or soda-can size. Thus they are the perfect discriminator for all small items

Great job on another video. Re.: The half -dime: I love how you got the pre-narration (setting the stage for the viewer). Then the audio of what you were trying to isolate. Then the live dig. Then the reveal & passion.
And you forgot to tell the viewer that I KEEP TRYING TO TELL YOU that : The site isn't worked out, and might have some more targets. Good thing you took my a

I love live-dig videos. It captures "the moment". The zeal and passion of the hunt, etc..... Got a go-pro camera ball-cap mount for this purpose. And yes, it would also dispel any notion of faked. Crazy that anyone would do that. What satisfaction would t

If you can tolerate coin-depths of only ~ 5 inches, and wimpy in minerals, and a bear to keep balanced, then: The old 77b could pass nails, yet get a coin hiding under 2 or 3 square nails laid squarely over the top of the coin. A Tesoro silver sabre or Bandito is a close second place (with better depth and ease of operation). The deus is supposed to be the cat's meow for this too.

Ok, I stand corrected. It looked like you were right over the dime . But the toe of your coil was not touching the coil. So if this test were to mimic trying to get targets next to an up-right metal volleyball pole, you'd need to be a foot away from the pole, to begin to have a fighting chance, to replicate your results here, eh ?

Great videos as usual. A couple of observations :
1) Make a video where you can show us that you put a silver Washington quarter on the seat of a '57 Chevy. And show us that you get a clean signal on the quarter. Now THAT is "un-masking" ><
2) Stop 'dissing Etracs & Explorers
3) But in all seriousness, you were enough distance from the pole
