That's where I got mine. Took 4 days with free shipping.
Drop shipped directly from Minelab.
Why anyone is waiting weeks and months waiting to get higher up on a list is beyond me....

Just three days ago Cabela's had 800s in stock (on-line) for well over 24 hours.
Last time they had them in stock, they sold out in just a couple hours...so they must have gotten a lot more this time.
That, or demand is slowing down. (Or both.)
I'd watch their website each day to see when they get another allotment.

Based on the prices charged, I'd say they work on the principal of the seller's affinity to money.

Frank,
They've got EQ control covers on eBay...
Some from the UK (Searcher magazine brand from Detecnicks), and Deano's from US.
Both fit well, but I like the Deano's better because you can leave it on and still charge and/or use the wired headphones.

Hard to say, but they're just rebranded Miccus SR-71 Stealth headphones...and those typically sell for about $75.00.
I'm sure Minelab has added a little more to the price for the logo silk screening.
mike
BTW, it's about impossible to find the Miccus phones right now...due to Equinox 600 users snapping them up.
I suspect you'll have no trouble whatsoever selling t

Yes. Lots.
Almost all Tesoros are single tone.
Many Eastern European (especially Bulgarian) detectors are single tone...or 2 tone. (One for iron, one for non-ferrous.)
I think some British detectors are single tone.

I think they're arriving a little late to the movie...all the best seats are already taken.
They'll probably sell a few to the die-hard fan boys, but the more I use my f-pulse/tek-point, the more I like it...

I've been doing a similar trick for many years with some machines...particularly the CTX/ET.
Except I raise the coil up just a little, then very slightly (and quickly) move it up and down...maybe 1" (2"...at most.) More of an up/down wobble...not the whacking/hoeing motion shown in the vid.
In fact, the motion looks very similar to an early onset Parkinson's shake.

It's the closest of the high gain PPs to being only tip sensitive..
There's actually the sensitive tip...then a dead spot behind it...then it picks back up in sensitivity as you go toward the button.
But for all practical purposes, and at least for my style, it was (prac

I really like mine, as well.
...and since it's pulse, it holds that depth really well in mineralized dirt...much better than the those VLF based.

Also, on the subject of Etrac batteries;
You can make a poor-mans RNB Li-ion battery pack with a holder available on eBay.
The seller (from Eastern Europe...Ukraine, I think) 3d prints an orange plastic holder designed to hold 3 of the larger 3.7v 18650 batteries.
The caveats here are:
1. You'll need to remove the batteries from the holder to charge them.
2. You'll need a charg

Yeah, I've still got mine...and still use it occasionally. Works great. Nice old silver magnet, too...with the 10.5" coil.
As far as the balance goes, I bought one of those mount kits off ebay, and mounted the control box under the armrest.
It's much, much better balanced, but you have to reach under your elbow to adjust the controls.
It's a little bit of a hassle, but

I see you already sent it back, but I had the same problem crop up with a 600 I had purchased a set of wireless headphones for...
In my initial tests inside, it ran quiet and fine, but when I went to my favorite place to hunt, it acted exactly as you describe...completely unusable.
When I got back and tested it again, it was still bonkers...like it had suddenly gone bad.

I believe with so much of the circuitry being digital, that yes...performance variances (standard deviation) have minimized significantly.
You've still got a lot of overall performance that depends on the coils fabrication/tuning, so there's still a potential bit of variability there...
But overall, yes...it's definitely better.

I found out the trick to quickly turning off/on the LED...
It's not in the manual (that I could see), but if you hold the button just a little too long on power-up, there's apparently a nice little feature that quickly toggles the LED on/off state.
If (like me) you accidentally turn the LED off by holding the power on button too long, just:
1. Turn off the pinpointer.

Got to say...I'm impressed.
I was hoping to replace my DetectorPro Uni-probe pulse for a couple reasons:
1. It's no longer made.
2. In the summer, full cup earphones are a sauna. (It's nice to have smaller/cooler options.)
3. A lot of my newer machines have wireless headphones, and I like the wireless freedom/flexibility.
Oh, and I need pulse induction in my ground. Otherw

Very nice, Wayne.
Sounds like you managed to get out quite a bit, and have some fun (and exercise).
I was kept inside a little more than I'd like last year (health issues/surgery), but still got my 'fix'/quota of precious metals.
Let's hope we all do well in 2018...
Keep having fun!
