I found 100 buckles and plates using a Whites 4900 in all metal mode. Just a fact jack. My two partners said I really sucked when I got the First Blue Eagle. Became a meter watcher instead of a listener. Bad George Bad.

Should I now consider a Tarsacci? I share the same nasty red dirt as Keith being I live just south of Culpeper Va. I've used and field tested hundreds of detectors over many years.

Fair enough.. Now get 5 gold coins and 150+ belt plates and 3 id tags.Fill up a jar with Spanish and you will be in like flint. In the end the finds are not what was important to me. It just happens. The research and the anticipation leading up to the hunt is what I believe really matters to me. I hope you surpass me. If you can good for you.Stay safe and well.

Tom,
I started with a Metrotech 220 A in Washington D.C. parks. Found a ton of silver coins and several gold rings along with civil war relics. Not as much trash to deal with back in the day. It turned on when you plugged in the headphone. 4" max depth.

Thanks everyone for your kind wishes. I will never stop detecting even in the afterlife. Not sure which one I'll take but rest assured Calabash would not like it. LMAO.
