My first IDX pro was modded by Mr. Bill. It worked very well and found me many deep CW relics while hunting in the all metal with 1D. Some Minnies were over a foot deep in Central Va. red clay. Had the 5900 DI pro with the 3 tone id.and it was very heavy.I hunt mostly colonial sites now and the IDX does well in the iron.

Someone should do a video on how it gives false signals and id numbers when using in soil with a cold rock bedrock.My experience here in Central Va. with the 540. You can even waive a piece of ferrite in front of the coil with the same results. So much for expert field testers.

I was out a few times with the 540 in hot ground with a cold rock base. Cold rock caused false signals with ID readings. I took a piece of ferrite and ran it past the coil and was surprised it picked it up. So the preset ground balance will hinder as you receive unwanted signals. On the wet salt water at Va.beach it purrs like a kitten. Hardware is great. No wobble or flexing when extended. Does
