New hot pricing on Omega 8000 and

Yesterday Technetics started a small scale test program for direct sales of Technetics detectors. It's very much a "test the waters" rollout.

They have appointed five "Exclusive Reps" to offer the program to customers. I am one of the Reps.

The program for now covers only the Omega8000 and the G2 (not the +)

Here's how it works. The buyer places the order direct with Teknetics in El Paso, tells them who the referring Rep is (the pricing is only available with reference to one of the 5 Reps) and the detector is shipped by Tek direct to the customer.

To order, contact Teknetics - Rubi Martinez (915) 633-8354 with my name as reference - Mon - Fri 8:00 am - 5:00 pm MST.

There are three different Om8000 packages and one G2

The pricing is extremely low.

Omega8000 with

10" concentric oval - $375

11" dd - $400

1" conc. and 11" dd - $475

10" conc., 11' dd and 5" dd - $540

G2 with 11" dd $460

I would have bet a week's pay that Mr. L would be the first reply and either say something disparaging about the Omega and G2 or about First Texas.

Any way possible,,,for a how manufacturer markets their merchandise to get costs lower,,,and open their lines of merchandise open to folks who may indeed have tighter budgets-- kudos

I do have a Deus,,and a Racer,,,but I'm not going to make disparaging comments about the issue here in this thread...

So they are bringing back the 8000 that was discontinued and replaced by the 8500? They closed them out, previously, by reducing the SRP to $400 with the concentric coil.

Rick-----I just called Rubi and she said they didn't have any Omega 8000's.-----What's going on here?????

So anyone want to buy a USED Omega 8k? Maybe putting my retirement funds in detector inventory was not such a great idea after all...

Last update I had was only a few left, proxy'd through remain distro supply. That update was from January 15th, 2016. They are not longer manufactured. At least this is what official dealer information is.

I call bull on this marketing strategy. Dealers can already order and ship direct from factory without a special program.

I am told that this is, in fact, a sort of "factory clearance". When the quantities on hand are gone, there will be no more.

When the dust settles, I suspect that the price of used 8000's and G2's probably won't be much affected.

It's basically the same pricing tactic as they did with the T2 Classic, but the way they are doing it - via direct sale is new.

I suspect that they found out that the way they handled the T2 stocks on hand just didn't work for them.

I understand. But they have already been doing this with dealers for 8 months and supply is gone many months ago. Maybe they found more or something...

speaking of clearance...Omega 8500 coming in later this week. Couple months old $379 shipped.

I assume the G2's are likewise in short supply, but I have no a tual info.

I tried to sell my Omega 8000 before the 8500 was to be released. I basically gave it away, because everybody was waiting for the magic 8500. And then the 8500 turned out to be a flop. Go figure.....

I can relate buddy.. I'll never buy another detector unless I nearly steal it.

I just want my trusty old 8000 back

love to see 'em roll out a special with the" t2 classic!".. "lower pricing" and throw in the 5" dd coil!
say $400.00 for both! ..key to this detector is THAT small coil package deal at a "killer" price point!
they do this and the juarez c.c. factory will keep people from crossing over.

yeah! i agree! c'mon "low boy"!..they are good detectors,but they
are not the greatest thing since rock 'n roll!..there are "other" tools that hunt as well
as they do in iron! for example: whitey's mx-5 with 5.3 eclipse.it'll go head to head with
either of them in iron,and hardly anyone knows it except any and all that own 'em!

maybe the '50' were 'could not sell' returned from the Canadian Distributor, haha....

also they didn't offer the G2+ for sale up here in Canada after the USA release for the longest time....

I'd wager they had a bunch of G2's they couldn't sell was the reason...

and since I've put a lot of time on both the G2 and then the G2+ (had to order from USA) the
'+' model handily beats the socks off the older model....YMMV....in convenience and performance....
oh, and change found with the G2 paid for the G2+, what a concept...

Sorry you didn't like the G2 - glad the G2+ Worked out for you. Of course it probably cost twice what this close-out special on the G2 is going for - horses for courses

Somebody PM'd me to ask of they would sell an Omega without a coil. I called and the answer was no. You can get the 10" concentric, or the 11" dd - or both - or both plus the 5" dd.

The G2 is only available with the 11" dd.

Thanks for the info, I just got off the phone with Rubi. She says that there are only a handful of Omega 8000 version 5 detectors left and no more Omega version 6 detectors. The only difference between version 6 and the version 5 is the embedded serial number. I ordered version 5 for $375 shipped. It's a way better detector than the Omega 8500 and it runs a lot quieter than the version 4 does without losing any depth. I should have never sold my Omega version 5, but I'm happy that I found a great deal to replace it. Plus, I get a five year warranty which I didn't have before. Dave knocked it out of the park with his engineering on this detector! It's a great detector and really fun to use!

$375.00 for an Omega is a good deal, it is less than my dealer cost.

I received my Omega 8000 (with 10" concentric stock coil) today that I ordered from FT.----Looks and checks out great.----It has a manufacturer date of 5/'14 and is a version 6---also has both the 1/4" AND 1/8" h.p. jack receptacles on it--which I think is "cool beans"! -----I'm very well pleased with it.----Thanks Rick--if it hadn't of been for you, I would have never known about this special price---and I did mention your name to FT when ordering.------Hey----both DJ---AND---you are "legends"!---------Del

Surely it cannot be long now before we see something fresh coming out of the Fisher stable - I do mean a top end unit

It appears the 'new boys' have no problems designing newer improved models on their previous versions in quick succession -

Google 'teknetics omega 8000 version 5' and look at some of my finds that I found with it. This detector can hang with most any detector out there.
Buying a new one at $375 shipped put a big smile on my face. The 8500 is a big flop and should be recalled or redone.
