Nokta Relic Scores
August 01, 2016 01:16AM
Loaded up late this afternoon,,and went back to a spot I've hunted hard previously many times,,lots of nails,,and even some modern trash.
Used small coil on the Nokta Relic detector exclusively.
CTX, Deus has been in here multiple times btw.

A nice 2 and a half cent trade token,,,showed up as 80 dead lock in the window.
Reverse side is so corroded I can't make anything out..
And I actually damaged it by trying to scrape with my fingers some of the crud off of it,,chipped it.
Running detector 3 tone,,Max sens ,,tone break at 69.

The cartridge btw was bullet point straight up in the ground when I recovered.

One piece of horse or mule tack it seems,,and a tube flattened,,could be toothpaste or something.
Shotgun head stamp.

Gotta watch this detector,,,sneaky,, it will hunt no doubt.

Thanks for looking

Hi tnss -

How does the relic compare to the CoRe and is it worth changing over to the Relic IYHO?

Nice token by the way winking smiley

Nice! Still pulling non ferrous out of a hard hunted spot, that's saying something........... Was the cartridge a misfire or a drop, just curious?

RC,
I know you asked TNSS but I have both machines and I say that if you like the CoRe you will like the Relic even more. More versatility with settings and the Relic doesn't lump everything in to the 82 bin. What you say TNSS?

Alright,,I have as you know run Nokta Core, Racer 1,, and Racer 2.

As far as the Nokta relic goes,,comparing to CoRe.

You do have tone break setting on the top side while using 3tone,,,making it I think better especially when hunting in and modern trash.
Also id is spread out more than CoRe.

I when hunting around old home sites,,I feel very comfortable running tone break around 69.

And a person won't dig much junk I call it.
Will need to use pinpoint though on some of the bigger junk,,,or toggle to 2 tone and let the vco tell you it's big and or shallow.

Relic detector hitter on lower conductors ,,,CoRe hotter on higher conductors.

The small $1 gold coin,,if depth detectable in an old site--- should be shaking in its boots if a relic detector shows up.

As far as depth,,using small coil,,expect 5.5-7" depending on soil mineralization,,,on ring and coin sized items.

Stock coil--- I can't say much about it,,cause other than just a few tests in my yard,,,the small coil stays on this detector.

Relic detector does have edge on CoRe, Racer1 and 2 on separation,,,in and around iron and nails.

One thing to note with relic detector,,,zinc penny range conductivity and lower seems to be wher pe this detector thrives,,,and this is not to say you can't find silver,,but test show it is biased toward the lower end conductors.

The Racers and CoRe obviously are biased more toward the higher conductors...

A simple and fun machine,,,with small coil attached,,one of my dream machine to move around with.

And when you go into a site riddled with iron and nails,,,you are taking at least one of the top notch performers in,,,,and you can hunt behind other very good detectors too.

Will you finds pouch runneth over hunting behind other detectors like Deus, etc???

Probably not,,,but a good find is a good find in my book.

I haven't dug any birdshot or anything with mine yet.

But the season right now has me restricted,,,I do have some sites that will become available,,,where I will be digging anything nonferrous when located,,vs selective digging as I am doing more of now.

Gotta love how the tone rips in on the Makro and Nokta detectors.

Cheers

I hope this info helps.

Thanks Dean - That's exactly what I wanted to know - Appreciated winking smiley

It helps immensely - I was considering off-loading the CoRe for the Relic however after reading what you have said I might just keep the CoRe and get a Relic as well - As for the Makro's I am running a CF77 & was fortunate enough to test & review the Original Racer before it was released into the USA - I am still yet to run the Racer2 but have one lined up when I get some free time to take it out for a spin -

By the way, I have a long standing commitment to you as I know how much crap you took over these Turkish units - I would follow you into any battle Sir as you are one hard man (respect)

Seems like the Relic is the best of the modern machines out there, The only thing I would like is a straight shaft, But it is the only machine with the control box mounted at the back to Balance the machine when using larger coils, Where as the Racer and Gold Racer and the F75 and the Xterra type machines are not setup to take big coils, despite how good they are the setup of the Relic and the Core just makes them way more flexible.

I wouldn't say it is the best,,,just that it does so,e things better than some others.

And not overly pricey..

Pretty simple layout as far as settings goes

Ground balance is simple as well.

Truthfully,,after using Racer 1, Racer 2, Nokta CoRe, Nokta Relic,,,,there is something about them,,,,they to me seem to hit shallower targets better than what other detectors I have run.

Some of this may be due to orientation of target, some masking,,,,but it is what I see and think.

Could also be how tone seems to come in,,,not delayed sounding,,more spot on when coil comes over.

I do have other detectors made by other manufacturers,,and like them too-- certain aspects.

This what I've said here is not a plug for Makro or Nokta,,,just my experiences thus far.

I don't know if it the machines them selves or the Go Pro's people use but in all of the Videos the Nokta's and Makro's and the MXS all seem to chatter when people shoot video's of them, I like the Relic, I love the GP/GPX styling, I am not too sure about the Fisher F5 type/shape coils I would rather a round one or something more like the Coiltek Platypus Oval shape,

The Relic is a Great machine but how does it compare to the F75 DST or what I have now I don't know, But what I have now does everything well, In the respect that it can do it all whether prospecting in hot ground or searching woodland or fields,

I think I am looking for a machine to inspire me and now there are so many good machines it is a tough choice. None of them have major differences from what we already had but they are getting closer.

When I get myself some spare time I'll fix you up a few pics of my homemade balance system for the X-terra.
Turns it into a great swing.

It's my third 705, because each time I sold it. Well the replacement just didn't feel wright and it always seems to pull a couple
of good finds.

I like that!!

I wish I had a $1 or $2.50 gold coin, I'd like to see about where the TID on the Racer1/2. Good chance that one could show up at a site I'm currently working on.

Cal -- The $1 gold coin I had, rang up as foil on every machine I tried, including the Racer and Relic.

TNSS -- The 7mm Mag is one of my favorite rifle rounds. I traded a nice AR for a Remington 7mm Mag bolt action that was all stainless. Did a little work and free floated the barrel. If it wasn't so expensive to shoot it, you could drive tacks with it. A box of 20 rounds is nearly $50 if you buy it from the store. Thankfully I have reloading dies for 7mm mag and the guy I traded with threw in a bunch of his spent 7mm mag brass.

I have thought about removing the plastic Bung in the end of the shaft under the arm cup and turning a counter weight up out of Iron or some other heavy weight metal to help with running big coils, Because I noticed that even my new ( OLD ) Blue Box 5900 Di Pro has perfect balance even weighing 5.7 pounds without batteries and is effortless to swing, It is the balance of machines this we dislike but people always use the word "Weight"

Once a person gets use to the MXT with the 12" coil it becomes un-noticeable when you swing it for 60 hours a week for 3 weeks in a row, But those type of hunts don't come up that often, So the 12" does tend to put people off,

With right bullet,,,the one with high ballistic coefficient,,,,caliber will do long range if trigger man knows how to hold and hold steady.
Little too much gun though here in my area for me,,instead I shoot 25-06.
