Cold weather detector

I was thinking about scouting some farm fields in the winter months to see if the ground was worth working in earnest when warm weather arrives. Something to do in the off season and thought it would save time when hunting prime spots in summer. The Excal is rated to -32 as I was told by minelab rep. Would the CZ21 that is coming out be good for cold also as it is rated over 200 feet in water? Would also be nice to have waterproof unit for bad weather days, and something for fresh or saltwater beaches...An ATV unit. Does the CZ 20 have distinct tones versus the Excal? Has anyone checked for good targets in the winter?
