Do all your copper nickel coins come out of your soil shiny like the 3 cent piece? All of mine turn a red rusty color except a few with green patina buildup on them.

It says the coin I found is nickle but it has to be silver. It is not like any nickle I have found most of them are in bad shape but this hit like silver also??

It is a 3c nickel... same composition as yesterday's nickels, same composition as today's nickels.

Next question, what does a one-cent nickel (not a 'fattie') measure on a F75?

It's metal composition is 75% copper 25% nickel so I can see it ID'ING in the upper VDI numbers with that composition.

How does a 150 year old nickel come out of the ground looking like that, doesn't seem possible

Good question it looks like silver to me but I clean most of my coins at home and then take a photo in the dirt in my garden...

It looks to have been cleaned.

Now as to my 1c nickel question...

The link isn't coming up....tried several times.

Link not working, i wanna see the shiny coin!

I do clean my coins and then take a photo out in my back garden and I try and clean my relics. Some nickles and other metals come out of the ground with very little damage some I have to clean before I take the photo.
