What a rush even though it was probably a fluke!

Final cleaning of the 1855 Half Dime..... and it grades a F-12..... maybe 13-points. Glad I dug this 'zinc penny' reading! The 1920 SLQ is what turned out to be better than expected..... and grades a VF-30. Date stands out much clearer after proper cleaning. Penny was a 1913 wheat.... in EF-40.

The eagle button w/shield reads "STEELE & JOHNSON" for it's backmark. I need to do some homework...... time permitting.

What a trashed-out iron site.

This day will go down in the annals of history as unforgettable memories!

STEELE & JOHNSON 1858-1875
STEELE & JOHNSON MFG CO. 1875-1920

We need to monitor that site. Maybe the weekend?

Hmmmmm...... looks like 1858 - 1875.... and this would validate the half-dime. As corrosion flawless as this button is...... it's hard to believe it's age. What is CW stuff doing in Del FL???

Every soldier cames home from somewhere, Tom. I've found them in Ohio. Kids playing in Dads/Gramps uniform etc...

True. And the condition of the button is so good...... it looks like it may have spent only 20 years in the dirt.
