Give me a good analog White's or Tesoro with single tone Disc. and a true threshold based all-metal mode. Some people just prefer listening to an analog raw unfiltered signal response with a sweet modulated audio on deep, small non ferrous targets. I also prefer to listen to vinyl LP records as opposed to digitally produced and recorded music.

I was sell my XP Deus... and my top complicated machine is Spectra V3i now and Minelab CTX but only for beach hunting. My general machine is Deeptech Vista Smart Plus... but I also have two Nautilus DMC IIB and IIBa... This is kind of circle in my hobby, loop from start to the end. I want to work with simpler units and concentrate on place not how to setup in field. Pure joy of metal detecting. If you have good and simple tool, think about history. For me is kind of time machine to back in time.

With a few exceptions I will reach for a good beep and dig machine ever time. I also would never hunt an old house site or salt water beach without my BBS detector!

i feel the same way ozzie, and i been doin' this for over 35 years..i like simple and usually go after
"curb strips",schools, and trashy parks.i keep my two units in the car with me,(unless it gets hot, then i take 'em out)
and i'm ready to go if i spot a site worth checkin' out.use pouch with a small digger (wilcox s-50),coin popper, and a brass probe
nice lightweight rig with a belt so i can get into action super fast..my units are a mx-5 with 6" coil mounted, and a new tesoro "mojave"
have no need,or desire for anything else..simple gets it done! simple works, and simple is fun!

In terms of simplicity and very good all round performance it does not get much better than my 'original' green T2,just seconds too to dial in the settings and then you are out detecting, site specific use machines thats a different ball game all together.
