Tom, what depth difference will be noticed between a 5" coil and a (true) 6" coil?

Thanks, Frank

The DD five on the LTD seems to get more depth and a better VDI then the F75 the six inch coil seems to work best in DE mode but the depth is a bit deeper but after you hunt with DD is is hard to go back to a reg coil

LowBoy, thanks for the info but the question does not apply to any particular detector-generalized coil question applicable to surface area coverage.

In general...... on average...... concentric-to-concentric coil(s)..... the (realized) depth gain should be approx 5% on penny-sized targets. Yes, operating Freq, target conductivity, mineralization content....and many other factors enter into equation......but............this should give you a rule-of-thumb.
