When I get a high tone I "test" to see if its a bottle cap twist type, by changing from 0-6 disc then switch to salt mode.. if it still rings in high, then dig,if no high tone no dig... this make sense? It seems to work........ [www.youtube.com]

No. If a target ID's as a specific item (say; a steel bottlecap that is falsing to high-coin)............then..............no matter what you do with the Discrimination..............(as long as you don't Disc out 'high-coin') it'll always ID as a high-coin. This holds true with any brand detector.

...........Now.........If you change coil height, coil sweep speed, coil approach direction......or a plethora of other variables....it can change your response/ID.
