Only three frequencies

May 2011 issue of the Western & Eastern Treasures, page 15, states that the maxium amount of frequencies any detector is using is three. Now that can't be right, what about the Minelabs?

the minelab use a lot of Freq but not at the same time..

I think I read they use three "sets" of frequencies and the 4th frequency monitors the ground. In each "set" of frequencies you have 9 separately spaced frequencies being sent out (pulse train? Maybe??). That is how you get 28 frequencies (3 x 9 +1 ground freq). Not sure this is technically correct in it's language, lol, but a rough idea of how I understood it.

Ive heard minelabs only receive in 3 frequencies as well but was not sure I started a post here called ML Fbs Machines question. I posted a link there that is from the minelab site stating they receive in low med and high frequencies ranges. But they do not say weather its just or three groups. Its a very interesting question and if this is the case I am swayed to the V3I as I can control the machine much more. However I'm not seeing the same amount of finds coming from the Vs. So far I think they are doing better with the small gold though.
Be Well

Can or will anyone expand on this thought?

What are the actual facts?
Enlighten me please.

((( I think ))) this starts to infringe upon corporate trade-secrets. I know I am allowed to say: 'harmonics' are utilized by some Mfr's.
