The manual listed below is one some people might like to have on hand if they do their own electronic repairs. Use Google and the search term “TO 00-25-234” and you should see it as a PDF file at the top of the page. It is a U.S. Air Force technical order free to the public.

NOTE: It is a very large file.

All the military branches have a multitude of skills/training manuals available to the public for free. The government declared them public domain in the 1980's if I recall correctly. It is good you brought this to forum members attention. There is some really great knowledge for free.
You don't have to be a rocket scientist to be a good detectorist(no pun intended) and imagine the average swinger has little technical knowledge. As far as technical knowledge certainly can't beat the specific tech's who design a particuliar instrument and work for a specific manufacturer. Imagine tech's on the outside looking in have a general knowledge of many manufacturers but for the nitty gritty right from the horses mouth call the specific manufacturer and ask to talk to a tech. Been there done that and they are very informative in most case unless certain info is patent protected..Nice to kick these aspects around but again not going to ask a ford mechanic how to fix a chevrolet
feature used soley by chevrolet manufacturers...
