12 wheaties and still no silver..

Found an old small area many detectorists pass every day(yes we have a bunch in my area) and in 3 evenings to beat the heat dug 12 wheaties(guesstimate 8-11 inches) last night got a 1917 at close to a foot but still no silver. My guess is the silver dimes(has to be some) are just too darn deep in this mineralization so have to go after the real iffies. Been there before and dug 33 in an old yard before the standing liberty quarter hit the light of day. Remember a wheat penny is just a little bigger than a silver dime and due to its composition just a little easier to detect deep as they leach into the ground a bit...
Last year in this general area pulled a 1898 barber half and a 12 inch 1893 barber dime plus a lot of wheaties and I don't give up easy so time will tell.
Thank the metal detecting gods for this deep CZ5 coupled with my CZ experience as I know many units wouldn't touch these coins..

If you are digging 8-11 inch coins, it's only a matter of time, as you know. That's some impressive depth. Get into the right site, and you'll hammer the silver!

Yes, incredible depth on those coins! A pipe dream in my soil with my 1021 CZ-3D. Keep hammering away that silver is there. Makes me wonder how deep the
late 1700s~early 1800s coins are there???

Hi, Don't despair the silver will appear......I really think I need to get a HOT Fisher CZ-5 and gain some more experience....I have a spot in mind I could use this kinda depth and possibly pull some older coins....JJ
