vfp7,
Your English was just fine...thanks for the update.
Always sad/rough to hear about someone's family members getting the Big 'C'.
It puts one's life into perspective pretty quickly.

There are still things I want to know before I get to excited.
What does MULTI FREQ actually do and how it works.
Does it have options to have sound adjust to target depth.
Does ID change quickly on depth or is it as good as the target ID on the ctx at depth.
How is it in the SALT water.
Does pinpoint have a sizing option.
I would like a trigger pinpoint I hate the thumb pinpoint.
The list goes on and on still to early to get to excited but it looks good so far.

Not very likely.. Both of those brands have a high loyalty rating.. and I would like to see better information
and videos of real in the field tests... I am not giving up my Deus any time soo..

And then there is the always present problems with Minelabs terrible reputation when it comes to service and warranty work

Despite the warranty problems with Minelab in the past, this machine has been one of the most talked about and preordered machines of any that I can remember and I've been on internet detecting forums since around 1994. The Impact was popular here on this site because we had such a large number of testers talking about it. But else where, it didn't generate a lot of chatter or preorders. On every forum I visit, there are at least two new threads posted about the Equinox every day since it was unveiled. In most cases, multiple threads and posts daily. There are also bunches of posts about people "on the list" to preorder it...and we haven't saw any real in-depth videos, or read any tester reports, etc on the machine. All we have are specs, pictures, and some small snippets in video where they show us a few things. And I am right there with everybody else, just as excited.

Sure, but it was just announced, not even released. This is usually a part of the "fun" in marketing. Get people talking, and it sure looks like we are.
That tester who said it is faster than a Deus and deeper than a CTX, that is what I am curious about. Why would he lie about it being his go to detector now? It just doesn't add up that you put your name and face out there and then lie...

I agree Albert---Brandon wouldn't lie.----He better not be, he lives a few miles from me over in ID.grinning smiley-----I got a couple of 800's ordered (for my wife & I)---our CTX's & Etracs need some company.-------Kidding aside--I'm actually pretty excited about the Equinox--looks to be a fine detector.------------Del

Deeper than a CTX maybe in his soil but Im not sure how anyone could tell if the Equinox was faster than a Deus just by waving the coil along a few targets only a dedicated test rig / software could do that with results that you could see.

Hey Del, thanks for sharing that story. It really adds some credibility to Brandon's findings/opinions.

It looks like it is going to separate well, but tbh, FBS2 separated well and wasn't so fast, so expect some good surprises imo.
I'm curious about the depth. If it is on par or better than the CTX (in my somewhat iron mineralized ground, then I'm detecting again.)

Oh, and I wonder and I bet, when are they going to release a higher end model? It sort of doesn't make sense that they are just going at the mid level or so market. (Unless that is what the research has FINALLY shown them, lol.)

I do know there seems to be quite a few people who have found the Go-Finds to be "Go Flops" & a "white elephant" by quite a few people who have a wonderful reputation, such as yourself, in this hobby -

Now I know the Go Finds are not what we have come to expect from Minelab, but can someone please explain to me why the Go Finds have this, so-called 'bad rep' - i.e. Flop etc

The way I see it is that Minelab introduced a small compact unit, with some great features & designed to attract the younger ones into the hobby - In fact the Go Find performance is not too shabby either. So I am at a loss to understand why something like the Go Finds are regarded by some the way they are when clearly there are some real lemons put out on to the market, without so much of a whisper of branding them 'flops' and WHITE elephants -

This is not directed at anyone in particular but come on, what makes these Go-Finds that bad, they have this stigma attached?

Cheers winking smiley
