Micro Jewelry hunting
April 11, 2007 01:15PM
After reading the article on micro hunting on a dry beach I got bit by the gold bug(2). Will be mainly searching freshwater beaches since I live in Indiana, but will have chance 1-2 times year to search in Fla. Also there are numerous inland volleyball courts that have sand. I am working on a system to sift the sand as rapidly as possible and still get the small items. Thinking about pulling a lightweight plastic sled like tray with 2 or 3 plastic strainer trays with different size openings. Would use some type of solid scoop or shovel to put sand in to put in containers to seive down. Its exciting to know there is a wealth of small jewelry out there that most people have not been able to detect or pick up. I know the Gold Bug 2 will do the job, just a matter of efficiently sifting the sand that the target is in. Anyone have any one have any suggestions?
