Another lunch break hunt scores a double eagle...

But not a double eagle coin....I WISH.....

I got a ring....

Not just a ring.....

But a gold ring......

But not just a gold ring.....

A 14k gold ring....

But not just a 14k gold ring....

A 14k gold ring with a platinum inlay....

And 8.50grams total weight to boot. If it was just gold the 100% melt value is $255.58, but I don't know how much the platinum weighs alone.

And here it is....did not have camera with me, had to use phone. Fuzzy pics of ring with dirt intact.

The ring cleaned up follows.

14k mark and PL mark inside. VDI on the AT-Pro with 8x11 coil was 53-54 with a 61 popping up too, probably the platinum.

It's out there fellows! Go get it!

NICE! You know, I don't know about other people, but I seem to get even more of a thrill out of seeing a gold ring stuck in dirt then I ever have of seeing one in a sand scoop. There just seems to be a little more "sense" of satisfaction knowing it was found the hard way, or should I say a harder way, as I don't mean to imply water hunting ain't hard work. You know what I mean? Good job!

Thanks, I always try to photo it "in-situ" as they say, to prove it was found in the earth and not in a pawn shop. winking smiley If I had had my camera today you would have gotten the video of me pulling it from the damp earth too.

Nothing like the silver reed of a large silver coin or the flash of gold in either case from a watery grave or a standard dirt grave...

Park gold. That's usually a challenge because of all the pulltabs and bottlecaps that litter the ground.

Congrats on the ring.
