Nice Silver Ring of 2013
January 27, 2013 04:31PM

Found a really nice silver ring, main diamond over 2Cts., with 16 smaller jewels (eight on each side), will scratch glass,....but no joy, the main jewel also got scratched, real diamond dont scratch.....at least my wife has a nice ring.....hallmarks "GM 925"....

Cannot find anything about "GM" except possibly, Gustavo Martinez,....with some history but no examples of his Ring work.

On the plus side it is Sterling Silver....with a very small size about a womans size 4 or 5.

History of Gustavo Martinez

Very informative hallmark for silver online encyclopedia:

Anyone else run across the "GM" hallmark ?

Still a nice find Tri.
I know I would have gotten a rush finding it.

Here’s a link that explains how to test a diamond. Usually, diamonds are mounted in a ring setting which allows you to see the back of the diamond. Test number 2, the read test, seems to work pretty well.

Congrats on you silver ring find.

Thanks for the replies,.....sad thing is I probably would not have dug this as the TID was 94 (same as most crown caps ) had it not been partially
sticking out of the rain soaked ground....main jewel was loose, its a wonder it did not fall out, it seems a lot a guys digging rings find the ring without the main jewel.
