Got out Today and Dug a Confederate Button

Its a rough one but its still a Confederate button...

It was taco'd (folded in half) so I had to open it to see it...

Its a Confederate Script I With Isaac's & Campbell Backmark London...

the GMP was really singing in this spot....this button could not be heard on the GMP when I turned on the Silencer....on zero it was a high tone pop Pop in a bunch of iron grunt's on 1 and 2 it disappeared..

These Confederate buttons are tricky to dig in nails...the GMP is perfect for such purpose..

Funny I was on the Phone Morgan (88 Junior) today and talking about how hard Confederate buttons are to dig in iron...then I went out a right after I got off the phone with him to a House site and popped this out...

Cant believe it did not fall apart when I opened it up...Might get it restored not sure yet...hopefully there will be some more Reb buttons in this spot...

The GMP is the right machine for Reb buttons !!!

This site might have some more in there...it span's from about 1840 till about 1880 it seems...Funny I have been hunting this site for over a year..it's tough site to hunt, large iron...

This is the best time of year to hunt it since the foliage is dead...

I just thought it up in my head as a discription but I can see in metal roofing that exact phrase making alot of sense...

Man that button was taco'd so bad it was actually mashed imprinted together...I wish it had not of been like that...But theres a guy in Virginia that will make it look like a perfect one!


Confederate brass is too precious not to preserve !
