Could this be a Civil War Drummer Button?

Found this old Dog Tag and Button at the site where I got my script I button a couple weeks ago. The button is hollow and the back is pushed in. Drum looks like what they used during the war. Anyone seen one of these before? The tag has the number on the back and can find similar ones but numbers on front on those. Think it may be circa 1900's. Going to a older Vet in the same county I found these and hoping he has some input. The 13" Ultimate on the E Trac has really increased my finds in spots I have been over. Recommend it highly on any MD.

The punch shank tells the tale..

Before the back was attached to the front...a slit was mechanically pushed/punched out that stayed attached at the 2 ends, creating the shank.....my guess.

The Punch shank ...

That mean's the back was one solid piece and was punched by a machine in the middle and then stretched with a press device...pure 20th century...

Heres some shots of your button one dug one non dug

The Non dug one is probably about 1940's to 1960's

The dug one is probably about 1920's to 1940's
