Folks don't realize just how handy the light is. For night hunts a real plus. If one tries like I have in the past to run a light on my head, it causes glare big time and is distracting!! I wonder with the advancements in light bulb/led technology why other detecting companies hadn't thought of it. Again hats off to Makro/Nokta!!!

How can you make an assumption like this? Just because both have bluetooth?? We dont know anything about the quality and performance of this new unit do we? Its just like saying the new 2017 Porsche is gonna be better than the 2015 Ferrari and its gonna make Ferrari cheaper.

Just want to point out any detector can have bluetooth headphones with the same setup as the Racers. lol

yes, sounds like the Sennheiser RS 160 (using Kleer Technology for no lag) will do the trick and only $125 on amazon....

Most detectors you would have some kind of Bluetooth transmitter that plugs into the headphone jack. The Racer has a module that plugs into the side of the pod, separate from the rear mounted headphone jack. I am not sure exactly how much difference that makes, but it is different.

If it can pick out goodies in dense iron even close to what my deus did I am going to be one happy camper! I ended up selling off my deus and ctx because the wife was getting angry with the amount of money I had invested for no more than the little I get to hunt at the current time in our lives(twin boys 11 yrs.old) so I gave in and decided to just keep a trusty atpro around. I really loved my deus though and have missed it greatly as it was perfect for the type of sites I mostly hit. I am hoping the racer can be the poor mans version of the deus for me..

Different and probably only usable on the Racer sad smiley
I would prefer the RS 160s so I could use the same phones on different detectors instead. I love consistency in tonal quality and would really like to see a video of the Racer or the CoRe that demonstrate the "fantastic" sounds coming from these contenders when they are 2 or 3 tone units.
