EMI & Hotrocks & Machine gun Iron Makes For Fun ;-)

1850s - 1910's homesite.

This site is one of the nastiest I've ever encountered in terms of a mixture of the worst EMI you can imagine, a severe iron infestation and all topped off with a heavy sprinkle of hot-rocks everywhere!

Todays tool was the CTX running auto sens +3 which didn't allow the machine to ever run past 13 due to the heavy EMI so depth was severely suppressed to say the least.

All in all it wasn't a bad day diggin as I found some good stuff but it was beyond a struggle = I had to use every ounce of knowledge/experience known to mankind to hunt this site and pluck out what I did ;-)

Large Penny (1846)
Wheat Cent (1916s)
WWI Cuff Button
Buttons
Cool Ornate Buckle
Doo/dads
Antique 18k Gold Pendant
Etc.

Nice finds. Your hard work and skill paid off.

Dang nice hunt! A good variety of stuff too.

Looks like a good site. Buttons, a cool looking buckle, LC, and old gold add up to an awesome hunt in my book! Nice variety!

What's that oval doo-dad in the sixth picture? I find those at ghost town type sites all the time, they sound good and I've always wondered what they were originally used for?

they almost look like a piece to a piece of jewelry or the like to me
