Detectorists in Nethlerands find 1000lb WW2 bomb

I caught this through a news site. On 1/10/16 these people were searching a field. When they dug a target they discovered a WW2 bomb. They informed the local police. I guess it is fairly common. And I complain when I find nothing but clad.

Looked like the young lady in vid was using an At Pro maybe.

The adult accompanying her--- should have been paying more attention, teaching the young lady to get her coil closer to the ground.

Pretty impressive crater when they detonated it!

Reminded me of that scene in the first Detectorists series.

I think they were describing how they came across the bomb and lifted the coil like that and still got a strong signal. Notice she wasn't swinging like that earlier in the video. My Dutch is pretty bad, but there are some English and German sounding words in there, lol.

After not finding anything much, they finally got a signal.
As in most of Europe the kids got educated not to dig anything big without adult supervision :-)

First they thought it was a fuel tank,... then later on came to the conclusion it was a 500 lb bomb.
Called in the experts and finally BOOM went a 1000 lb-er.

People actually swing like that when doing a recon of a field. You obviously mis a lot. However 1000 lb-ers still hit. LOL
