Tom,
In the 5th edition of the Fisher Intelligence report, you said hunting dry salt beaches for micro-jewelry was an untapped opportunity. Is that still true today?
thanks

Yes; however, I do see a very slight increase in folks performing micro-jewelry hunting. . . . . over the past few years; yet, still so minimal. I also see errors in methodology. Wrong sifter....... wrong detector....... wrong technique.................. so/hence.....still untapped. Micro-jewelry hunting is substantially different from any other type of metal detecting. VERY few folks have the persistence (perseverance) for this 'type' of hunting. Volleyball courts (consisting of beach-sand) should be considered 'primary'.

..........and................... If you use the wrong sifter................ you will quit the hobby (micro-jewelry hunting)...... in short order.

And you have to like digging tiny pcs. of foil, lots and lots of them. Sometimes the amounts can drive you insane.
But, sandy beach areas like Tom says would be the ideal place to start and learn. Lot easier, faster sifting sand than digging dirt, tearing up a small grassy area.

Tom, Can you recommend a sifter? I ordered your beach and swimming hole book. Does it describe the best techniques for micro-jewelry?
