Nokta Fors Relic = SCORE!!
May 14, 2016 10:23PM
Just out for a short 1.5 hr hunt today (cloudy w/temps around 45 and winds blowin 15/20 outta the NW) = COLD and not fun thumbs up

but

it paid off BIG time!

Had the FR out with the 5" coil runnin DI2 - 0 imask, 0 IDmask, iron vol. 3, sens pushin 75, tone break 13

swinging through some NASTY iron where 2 houses and a PO sat in 1850s - 1870s

got a slight fuzzy high tone mixed in the iron hitting only one way so I dug and out popped a button grinning smiley

Didn't know we had rebs up here in Michigan!

Super Nice Dig Wayne!!!!!!!!!!!!

Whats a RARE Yes RARE Confederate Button doing in Michigan..LOL!!

That's a Cuff size R and an Import button to boot ..collectors call that the butterfly back...

They fetch a Good penny..

yours has nice even patina and no dent no pushes...

the 10 year old price guide has it at 800.00

yours with no shank but is slick Green like that is no joke..still even with economy in the tank I would surmise it could fetch 750.00 to a collector..

harder backmark and size to obtain..

Now wonder why that button went north????????

Souvenir ??? Transplant???

Isnt it amazing!!!

I'm in awe of your find!!

WAY TO GO!!!

Here's a sthe price guide from 10 years ago..

that RELIC machine IS a Relic machine is it not!!

It just paid for itself..

Thanks Cal -- gotta LOVE these (as someone put it here) = $700 waste of $$ machines!

And thanks everyone else for all the "adda boy's" thumbs down

A big thanks to Keith for the valued insight/information on the button

I'm still on cloud 9 over diggin such a rare button here in Michigan... When it popped out of the hole I thought it was a toy or fake at 1st but then it dawned on me that I may have something special so I packed up and headed for home to see what I really have!

I sure wasn't expecting THAT! Awesome find, Wayne. Congrats!
Might have been picked up off a battlefield. Might have been exchanged at the end of the war. Who knows?
It truly is amazing what you can find just by putting that coil to the soil. ANYWHERE! Gotta love it.

Thanks basstrackerman, ncwayne, jimmyjive and Tom41

I'm still on cloud 9 today too grinning smiley

This Ghost Town has produced some fantastic finds over/throughout the yrs!

In the past I've found that Gold $1 out there, several Large cents, shield nickels, Injuns galore, Seated pieces, several buttons (both civilian AND CW/military), 2 cent pieces, cool buckles, and more

but

this button is hands down the BEST find made out there in all the yrs I've hunted it (the $1 gold comes close) but not quite the same!
