There's a website called academia.edu which house is a lot of different sorts of academic and technical research papers. One of the people who post his work there is a guy named Chris Espenshade. Superficial archaeologist who has done a lot of work with detectorists in exploring and studying what's known as "conflict archaeology".
I think his articles are pretty fascinating – and I believe they show a useful way forward for cooperation between our hobby and professionals who are engaged in studying and documenting American history. So for your information/amusement/whatever… I'm not sure if it's necessary to sign up to read the papers – I signed up along time ago and by following Chris Espenshade's stuff, I get an email notification whenever he posts something.
