My mini spill had a little silver.

I got permission to hunt a turn of the century home nearby, turned into a half way decent place to hunt, not as many coins as I expected but enough cool stuff to make it worthwhile. The 2 V nickles and merc were in the same hole and after the first nickle came out, I had hopes for at least a barber, but, I'll take it never the less. It's still in the mid 80's and dry as a boneyard.

Dan, You find amazing stuff out there! Is that a Japanese coin above the Merc dime? What detector is finding these artifacts?

thank you. I was using the Etrac, the Japanese item appears to be a pin, I could see 2 places on the back where it appears to have been wore as one.

Dan,
Throw your Japanese pin in some lemon juice for a few hours....looks very similar to one I dug. The background might clean up very nice.

It is, but the front background became quite a nice clean silvery. Here is a pic a ways back of it.

Well shoot...

Ok thanks for the info!!

That suspender clip should be dated ..I've dug about half million of those things (LOL) and they usually are dated on the flat area where the tangs from the center bar are touching..
