Racer 2 find - not sure what it is

Found this at an old school. Have not been able to find much about it. it is a bit bigger than a quarter. I did find some info about the person but nothing about what this could be. Any ideas?

Looks like a merchant token/key-fob.

Sounds like he had quite the produce business turn of the century in California, MO. Probably some sort of tag, promotional item, or token for his company/store.
