Any ideas what this is?

I found this while detecting an older site that had some civil war activity. Not the pulltab....Lol

It's belt adjuster hook. Civil War period +/-.

It's not a knapsack hook guys. Those adjuster hooks were used on sword belts and rifle slings. With a few different types.

I'd be back there lookin for the sword plate/buckle -- who knows = it may have fell off when that adjuster gave way/fell off
