Just announced - Bounter Hunter jr. - target i.d.

A redesigned Bounty Hunter jr. Graphic interface and three tones.

I can't find it on the web yet, but if you're on Facebook, go th "Bounty Hunter Metal Detectors" FB page.

Looks like fun and under $100.

Cool, kudos to them for making a simple little kid friendly detector on the 2AA greek platform. Well I'm assuming its the greek platform. Would use this over a ProFind 20 any day.

$89 msrp

Wonder when dealers can get them?

They have a pretty solid engineering staff - here's a group pic from their Facebook page a while back. As far as Dave Johnson having designed it - think Dave has other "fish" to fry (pun intended).

By the way - that thing in the the middle of the table is the new Fisher "superdetector" --- oh wait, I forgot, it's covered by the Teknetics "cloak of invisibility" TM - so you can't see it - just the table - darn.

I got the model without screen this summer and my son and his cousins used it at the beach in nj. Worked great. Discrimination dial was set to knock out the Bobby pins and the coins came flowing in

The new Junior is actually based on the F11 platform, which was an update of the Greek series. The fellow in the gray t-shirt (and long hair, yeah I'm jealous) was responsible for all these models. He's quite a whiz.

I forgot we took that photo, got a helluva good team of engineers.

A few tens of thousands of them maybe - it's the mass market. What Minelab aimed for and missed with the Go Find.

nice to see there's someone to 'pick up the baton' so to speak....and what a mentor(s) he's got!
agree that your team is pretty awesome but the 'glacial progress' on something really new (multi-freq vlf) is wearing....

Are kids going to be strong enough to swing that thing with no arm rest?? Try swinging your detector with only the hand grip---I know,I know the design is different, but is it different enough to overcome the kid strength issue??

The small kids they JR's marketed to can't use an armrest anyway, forearm is not long enough. Plus, they only weigh a pound.

I understand getting them addicted early. But can't we get them to pick up trash while they are still close to the ground and have flexible backs???

I just got one of these - it's really beautiful. Very lightweight precision plastic mouldings. The coil wire is internal in the shaft. Might make a sort of "super pinpointer - cant't try it - it went already as a donation for a prize on our next club planted hunt.

Doc,
I had my kids who are both slender lightweights themselves at age 5 and 7 try a couple detectors...none were light enough, but this one they were good with. And kids attention span only requires them to swing it for 10 mins at a time, with plenty of time to look at the seashells between sessions, etc.
