General MD question 101

What strategy would likely pay more returns in relation to heavily hunted parks a) larger coil b) higher end machine ? thanks

Since hunt sites limited in my area going to try larger coils....if that does not pan out time for a less frustrating hobby spinning smiley sticking its tongue out like gardening.

I think ground conditions will determine if a higher end detector is needed, and I believe going either bigger or real small both will help find more.
With my tougher ground conditions, hunting with a FBS detector definitely helps me punch down and ID coins that most detectors ID as iron.
In mild ground a lot of mid range detectors seem to do just fine.
My friend and I do what I call Brute Force detecting. We almost exclusively turf hunt old "hunted out" parks with Big coils that most people
would say you couldn't use because of all the trash.
We mostly focus out in the open areas and find the deep and on edge coins that everyone else can't reach with their stock coils.
These parks are loaded with trash and we both find more coins by far than anyone in our club.
I'm fully aware of the masking that can happen with my oversize coil but also aware that my big coil might be the only option to detect that old
dime that is not necessarily deep but standing straight on edge.
