Impact on mineralised ground?
February 27, 2017 02:36PM
Has any of the testers any more updates on how the Impact is performing on tough ground, especially in 14-20khz on low conductors?
If possible could you say how it compares to the R2 on depth etc and how many bars it's running.
Thanks

The Impact is alot like the Racers.

The biggest advantage is going to be some extra modes...And it seems the 99 tone likes to peek in bad soil a bit better than a regular racer.and it's probably to do with the timings of the filter in that process..

This is 4 5 bad dirt..

All VLF machines have the inherent VLF attributes to date..

Cheers Keith.

With the exception of the Detech Relic Striker, most VLF machines perform poorly in highly mineralized ground. The Relic Striker at 4.8 khz has TDI like performance with a proper ID. It gives good ID to its maximum depth; never giving an iron ID at its limit.

I'm sorted for deep seeling lower khz machines, but im always looking for a better low conductor detector!

Does the Impact set @ 5Khz get similar results?

Is there a large coil for the Impact? the relic striker uses an ultimate coil or a big monster one!

The testing for the most part is done my machine had no glitches they had, I think about 6 testers in the U.S but I did read some of the testers in Australia looking for gold really liked the machine. But I do know our country has some real bad ground also. Tom pushed the freq of 5 for his dirt for low conductors and said it was amazing or words to that effect. But his ground is again different. I would think you are going to have to wait until it gets released and find some users on the forum to help you..

Impact set @ 5Khz is on a par with F75 with boost mode on so it wont be anywhere near the Relic Strikers depth in highly mineralized soil

At least not at this software release...hmmm.....Alper MORE DEPTH!!!!

I think Tom has pushed for more depth and maybe got in but we are not even talking a 1/2 inch.

The Relic Striker with the 13 Ultimate coil blows away any VLF machine I've used with the Ultimate or similar coil, on low and high conductors. I know it shouldn't be hot on low conductors, but it is. Where I barely get a peep with all the Fisher's on low conductors and high conductors, I can raise the coil 8 inches and still get a good tone with the Relic Striker. Now you wouldn't want to hunt a nail filled yard with it, but in farm fields it's hard to beat.

The typical low conductors i'm looking for, some are very small/thin and can come in the foil range, I've had no luck with low khz on them.

Well it seems to do well on foil, although I don't hunt for much in that range. I mainly Civil War relic hunt and most things are above the foil range. But you can just ignore nails in the relic mode, or hunt in two tone where most iron a low tone.

Does it have a hodograph?
