Hi,

I am new to this forum but not new to the hobby. Years ago I got some very good information about the F75 by reading postings here. Now I finnally managed to sign up. I am currently stationed in Germany and here I mainly hunt relics. I use a wide range of detectors, recently I am very much into PI machines.I also have build several PI kits myself and modified a few machines.

Hey FschJg, what are the current laws regarding detecting on public property?

In Germany you need to have at least the permission of the land owner. In some cases it is required to have permission from the state archaeological office as well. It took me about 2 month to get all the permissions together for a few square miles of state owned property.

You have to be careful of old ordinance in Germany.
Where about in Germany are you?

I am in the Kaiserslautern area, near the French border. This area has quite a few WW2 relics and some are of the explosive kind.

I was to Germany only once, many years ago.
My parents and I stayed with some friends they had made on a previous trip.
Rosy and Siegfried. Their place was in Regensburg.

I have one friend that lives in Bremen for over 25 years now.

When I was there with my parents I was 14 years old.
I'm 60 now. So I guess about 1970.

I remember 5 marks to the dollar. A mark was worth 20 cents American.



I suppose much has changed over the years.
