Well, it was already stated the high(er) freqs were still being worked on as far as the Equinox 800 goes.
Just a cya statement is all I see with it.
Product not final.

I have the same feeling. But this machine can be updated... so we need just to wait for final version.

Unfortunately the most interesting part (with the signal of the very first coil sweep, that supposedly discovered the target and made the detectorist aware of its existence) is missing... I also don't understand, why there has to be a cut in the video at 2:28, especially now when everyone is watching very closely...

But, if everything happened as portrayed, the fast coil sweep speed at 1:38 would look promising.

That video shows nothing about how deep that coin was it could have been just 2 or 4 inches down after all that earth moving he did it could have dropped down from a clod and why did he dig all that earth away anyway ? the video cuts out at the wrong time and the angle is wrong, the usual procedure for me to recover that would be to dig a clod out the try coil over the clod then if no signal try the pinpointer in the hole and repeat this until i got a signal, all that video did was make me feel i was been misled.

X2!! Especially with the digging part. I was watching "the spot" where the machine seemed to pinpoint and it looked to me like he was just trying to dig a big hole for the illusion of the target being deep. Maybe more videos will come with better footage of the machine in action.

Impressive, looking forward to more!

Not sure why people think that Brandon is trying to deceive them? confused smiley

At any rate, the proof will be in the pudding in a few months.

I kept seeing him find the garrett girl over and over again I think he wants to HIT that THANG.

He has a Message in the video about the detector still being in testing but yet he says it replaced his CTX?
I think he is a Shill for Minelab myself.

Brandon has poor retrieval technique

I would have liked to see a demonstration of the pinpoint mode. That was a massive hole he dug.

The people insinuating that Brandon is tricking people and is some kind of shill for Minelab on this and other forums is getting old.
This guy has never shown me any reason to not to believe him. The skepticism is unfounded..
When he initially finds the signal you can see that the depth meter is clearly buried at the bottom which = 10 inches or more on an E-Trac.
Let's give the guy a break until he gives us reason to doubt him.

I know this feeling very much on my YT channel. Too many specialists... but I saw this guy on Detectival. It was just pure luck not the new machine. The place was heavy hunted by last 30 years.

Not sure if I'd say that they were calling it "deception". But rather: If someone edits out a nose-pick moment, or doesn't kick in the video till a certain point, or fails to try with an alternate setting, etc.... then it's VERY EASY for someone casting a critical careful eye to say "aha!". That something un-intentional could explain away a seeming success.

There's been a LOT of machines (as you well know) that turn out to be "ho hom". And when the md'r looks back in hind-site to such tests, only THEN do they see things that could have given them a bit of "wait and see" attitude. So it's hard to blame them, when going forward in the years and decades to cast a leery eye to hype (which can be TOTALLY unintentional, and not "deception").

Not fun anymore..

Bryan --

While you sometimes have to wade through some "manure" at times on the forum, there's still an incredible amount of unmatched information here, coming from some great/knowledgeable posters (and not to mention the occasional gems coming from NASA-Tom, himself). Anywhere the rule of thumb is "free speech," there will be stuff you don't like that is being said, stuff you find offensive, etc. The opposite alternative is heavily moderated censoring, and in that type of environment, it's hard for debate to flow free, for tough questions asked, and true information to be shared...

The hope is that maturity and decency prevail; usually, that's the case here...

Hope you stay.

Steve

So all depth meters are accurate now ?

Well said Steve. I'm just a little moody today.
The forums have steadily gone down hill for some time now.
I'm sure I'll hang in awhile longer.
Thanks,

Not all but the Minelab CTX and E-Trac have extremely accurate depth meters
on dime/penny size targets if they're is no junk in the hole with them.
Other brands, not so much from my experience..
I don't know why this could not carry over to the Equinox series..

Agreed.

Brandon's always come across as honest and sincere on his multitude of detecting videos over the years, so I have no reason to disbelieve him until proven otherwise. Besides, he's been testing the NOX for the past 9 months, so he probably knows a thing or two about it.

As for his sloppy hole, have any of you tried to dig a hole and film the event at the same time?

At any rate, all will be revealed in good time.

hh,
Cal

Guys, he is digging for 2 thousand year old coins! Who in their right mind would risk ruining one by hitting it with the shovel? I think chill pills and maybe decaf could help here. It will take time and many users to set a reliable picture of performance. Until then take everything with a grain of salt and cut some slack. Brandon says he has been using this test model for 6 months and prefers it to his CTX how can you argue with his opinion?

BTW for the naysayers that noticed the video edit while digging the Roman silver and questioned it's authenticity, on DrTones youtube channel he was called out on this and said that you'd be watching him trying to find the target for five minutes, hence the edit, but he offered to post the dig in it's entirety for the negative nancy's out there >grinning smiley<
