The lawns at Greenwich - a sort of Yuletide story

A Nice American guy once visited London. Since he was interested in Naval history, he visited the Naval Observatory at Greenwich.

He as s walking around, very impressed, strolling across the lawns, when he met one of the gardeners. He said to the guy - “these lawns are amazing - how do you keep them so nice?”

The fellow said....”It’s simple sir, we seed, we roll, we water, we fertilize, we mow......and we do it for 500 years.

Gardens need tending. This garden of ours seems to be in need of a clip here and a mow there. Not picking on anybody - just suggesting that if we all pitch in, it can blossom anew!

In this season of joy and thanksgiving, let us have a look at the garden and see if there isn’t a bit we could all do to mike it nicer.

With respect and - in the old way - wassail!
