It used to be the Impact, which is now selling for a bit over $600.

Probably won't be that way long. Not because the Nox isn't a good detector but because there's most likely another "game changer which will render all others obsolete" just around the corner. grinning smiley

Same old raving reviews by same old posters that rave about any latest releases like their the greatest!
Funny how once a bunch of machines get out in the field how fast interest wains!
Just remember how particular posters always seem to constantly post raving new machines

Seems to me the only folks talking bad about the Nox are guess who?

The folks that don't have the unit.

Fancy that.

Anyone here wants to come on down to my next of the woods, bring any detector you want with a stock sized coil. We will go to some old house sites. And have a go.
You might just be surprised, more than once too.

While I am as eager as anyone to try one of these, it's not looking like a Silver bullet magic wand machine that's going to replace my relic hunting machines anytime soon (certainly not with the stock 11" circular coil).

I think like many others I was hoping it might be a replacement machine to cover many different types of hunting, not a simultaneous multifrequency AT Pro, if anything at least it should cover some gaps I have in my detecting arsenal, such as salt water beach hunting, and the ability to hunt tough alkaline soil's at some of my relic sites. It's not looking like it's going to be a good machine for cherry picking hi conductors, at depth, in trashy parks from what I have observed so far.

That said, I think it still needs more time and experience in the field. Perhaps new coil options may be a game changer, such as a 4 x 10 Or 6 x 10 elliptical closed loop DD coil, or an elliptical concentric coil for working in iron.

One thing is certain the equinox rollout has been the largest cluster muck I've ever seen in my life spinning smiley sticking its tongue out

To Me it still looks like it falls short of the Detector that was going to make the CTX and Etrac obsolete.
I figured it could not I.D. at Depth like they could. But it does seem to shine in iron and Submersible so has a place in the Minelab line up.
