The Tesoro brand is the red headed step child on this forum

I tried a Vaquero and Tejon through the years, But never really kept them long enough to learn well as missed Tone I.D.
Then I bought a New Tone Golden uMax and took it to a small old park that I and others pounded with Etrac/Explorers/CTXs,CZs and every other machine made just about.
First trip got a Franklin half. Second trip a Walker half. And third trip a Barber Quarter. That's all it took to make a believer out of Me.
Tesoros just find stuff other machines miss period.

That particular detector can be set up using ZERO discrimination and have foil caps thrown into the iron audio tone and the beaver tail pull tabs thrown into the zinc audio tone using the notch- width control knob. With that setup, start digging all nickel and coin audio (high) tones and that detector will pay for itself in nothing flat. It did for me, many times over. In my soil, it will cleanly high tone on an 8-inch dime.
