I'd be fascinated to hear what kind of things you find in Montenegro.

Welcome.

Every time I hear or read the word Montenegro I think of the scene in the James Bond Casino Royale (2006 version) movie of the train going through the woods. It's beautiful.

Originally i am not from Montenegro but we have family house there and I spent every summer there from childhood until now . When time come to retire i have decided to move there so i can finally live on sea coast. Indeed is beautiful country with mostly mountains regions which is main reason why is not archeologically explored compatibly. Other reason is lack of funds and weird laws who don't encourage metal detecting.
Being inhabited for 250.000 years it left a lot of things still to be found in ground.
First i start with beach hunting since i didn't know area and people well , after i make some friends i gather a crew of passionate metal detectorist around me so we go hunting as often as we can . Now I do beach detecting only in winter after we have some big wave activity , and treasure hunting is also reserve for colder months mostly because snake activity and earth humidity.
Now to sweet details , my oldest finds are around 800 BC , some bronze age artifacts, then comes Illyrian coinage fom 300-200 BC which continue with roman coins and artifacts. After roman period come Byzantine period until around 900AD when local coinage slowly start to show up. These periods end with Venetian rule, which ended with Ottoman invasion who last until 19 century, surprisingly Ottoman coins are quite rare even they rule for few hundred years. So basically u can find anything .
I have tried to upload pictures but i have failed on several occasions sad smiley
