Anybody know what this iron relic could be

It looks to small to be used for logs. It has a small opening for a wood handle. Wood is still inside of it. Has a raised 3 on the end. Indian Head pennies have been found in this area. It's from older site by an old school. Was comparing signals with the Orx and Equinox 800. The Orx hit it good both ways. No signal for the Equinox. Out of the ground both could only get a 1 way hit.

Had a couple people say could be an ice pick another said maybe for cut boards to to mark the end and pull the board over.
